U.S. Senator John McCain rebukes President Donald Trump in a new memoir, accusing his fellow Republican of failing to uphold U.S. values by showering praise on international tyrants, discrediting the media, ignoring human rights and demeaning refugees.
Flattery secures his friendship, criticism his enmity, wrote McCain in The Restless Wave, which he co-authored with longtime aide Mark Salter.
It is hard to know what to expect from President Trump, whats a pose, whats legitimate, McCain said in the book that is due to be released on May 22. An advance copy was sent to Reuters by publisher Simon & Schuster.
McCain, the 2008 Republican presidential nominee, remains one of the strongest voices in his party on foreign policy, despite a battle with brain cancer. He has been credited with championing civility and compromise in Congress during an era of acrid partisanship in U.S. politics.
The 81-year-old Arizona lawmaker, who has served in the Senate since 1987, has also been both a critic and target of Trump, who during his 2016 presidential campaign disparaged McCains war record by saying he was not a hero after enduring 5-1/2 years as a prisoner of war in North Vietnam....

I hope this is one of the rare times he's actually correct about something.
McCain helped destroy peoples savings and many lost their homes and had shorten lives from the stress because of the savings and loan scandal he was involved with.
The hidden chapter in the 'Art of the Deal'. Trump is exactly what he advertised. He said he likes to be unpredictable and unpredictable he is. I don't need a wink and a nod to know when Trump is aggrandizing or belittling. McCain has been a curmudgeon for the past 30 years. McCain is one of those "It's my way or I'll vote Democrat". Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference. Arizona should write a law that forces McCain to retire since it's obvious he can't perform his duties as a Senator.
Any chiding for Ms. Rotten Clinton?
When’s the bastard traitor going to die??!!
“...discrediting the media...”
You mean those %90 hack democrats in the media that pretend to be journalists? That media?
Says the Manchurian Candidate, Captain Queeg “Strawberries” McCain. Spit.
Or was that some other worthless, duplicitous, back-stabbing, unprincipled SOB besides that fake hero McPain?
Anyway, he won't even be a blip on the radar for much longer. Time's a coming to meet your maker, John.
Time's long past overdue.
He started writing the book over a year ago, and it's being released now. The quotes are from the book. McCain has been working with the same writer who wrote his earlier books, so the writer probably knows him very well by now.

That's true of many politicians and of many people in general. I'm not sure it's more true of Trump than of others in the public eye.
“Like the Keating 5 values?
Or like the never show up to vote values?
Or the never resign your seat values?”
Or killing Obamacare repeal with your “regular order” bullshit? FU loser.
Who in their right mind, or even their wrong mind, would buy another book by that stupid, useless, has-been, sociopath?
Using his last few breaths to stab President Trump in the back as many times as possible, isn’t he? This tells me that he is probably still unrepentant, which puts him in eternal mortal danger. Although there are, still, far too many people who bear the Name of Christ, while having hate in their hearts for Trump (or others). They need to repent; he is, so far, doing the things Christians have been praying for, for years. Not preaching, but if we acted in love, instead of anger and hate, a whole lot more people would come to the Lord, a lot quicker. And I include myself among those who need to show more love. And while there is such a thing as righteous anger, we are admonished to be angry and sin not, and to not let the sun go down on our anger. I hope McCain repeats before it is too late.
To imagine living life with this much hatred.
If you can’t say something nice to someone, don’t say anything at all. So, to you John, I say:
Democrats will make him a national hero for 'standing up to Trump'.
We should all hope and pray that Pres. Trump will reject the values that Sen. McCain and his neocon brethren advocate in the realm of United States foreign policy which, in general, lead to entanglements, threats, terrorism and hostilities with little opportunity for a peaceful settlement, much less withdrawal of our over-extended military forces.
McCain’s values are not in any way American values, sad to say.
Even if he didn’t actually write a word of it, based on excerpts, the author captured the John McCain we’ve come to know over the past few years. A bitter, spiteful, pathetic old man who was never particularly bright to begin with ... but he was born to Navy royalty and managed to “marry well” after abandoning the wife who waited faithfully for him through his long Viet Cong imprisonment.
Like Obama he’s a media invention.
And of no good import.
McCain will get the full Bush treatment (the current positive one, not the old negative one) once he's safely off the scene.
It's like that with every politician, though. People always invoke the dead or retired ones in order to bash the ones who are still active.
A practice top conservatives should have been should have been following for decades, in their face and calling them on their bias and dishonesty as Trump does. In stark contrast to Juan who has been a tool of the MSM during his entire political career.
Who blanking cares what McCain says about anything.
