"I was on the way to winning until a combination of Jim Comey's letter, on October 28th, and Russian WikiLeaks raised doubts in the minds of people who were inclined to vote for me but got scared off. And the evidence for that intervening event is, I think, compelling, persuasive, and so we overcame a lot in the campaign, we overcame an enormous barrage of negativity, of false equivalency and so much else, but as Nate Silver, who doesn't work for me, he's an independent analyst, but one considered to be very reliable, has concluded: If the election had been on October 27th, I'd be your president."
On May 2, 2017, Hillary Clinton sat down for a conversation with CNN's Christiane Amanpour at a Women for Women International event in New York. Nearly six months out from Election Day, Clinton said she took "absolute personal responsibility" for its outcome -- but her remarks strayed from there. In a now famous riff, Clinton paraphrased a tweet from FiveThirtyEight.com's Nate Silver, who said former FBI Director Jim Comey's letter to Congress, delivered 11 days before the vote, shaved off a fateful sliver of her support, enough to ultimately deliver the presidency to Donald Trump.
In a brisk note, Comey told lawmakers that the FBI had "learned of the existence of emails that appear to be pertinent to the investigation" of Clinton's personal server -- the same probe Comey had said over the summer was effectively over. The bureau, he added now, "cannot yet assess whether or not this material may be significant, and I cannot predict how long it will take us to complete this additional work."
Meting out blame (or claiming credit) for Clinton's loss has become a full-time concern for countless interested parties across the political spectrum.....

Please babble on - we want you to lose again.
Wow. Very nice essay, ese.
Gracious - the coffee must have kicked in while writing.
Whatever coffee you’re drinking, I want some. :)
“The day”? It was EVERY day!
Every day she failed to go to a rally of any sort.
Every day she lied on the campaign trail.
Every day she was so ill she fell in public or had a seizure.
Every day she cheated Bernie and his voters.
I could go on and on about what she did every day but we all know.
That New York looking dork with the glasses and faggot hand gestures stopped it cold.
Bigly!
JoMa
But the ending is worth it all!!!!
Throughout all of October 2016 it was clear that Trump was going to win FL, NC, OH, IA. It was not clear (to me) that he would win PA, MI, WI. I was reading both left and right reports on the rust belt. The Trump forces were giving numerous anecdotal stories to convince us that Trump would win their state, their region. There was no objective, reliable poll. All polls seemed to have bias.
Given the above, How many rust belt voters decided for Trump in the last week when the last week’s events could make a difference? My experience in other elections where I have known the voters is that in an election like this, most people had their minds made up by October 1. In my opinion, the results of the election would have been the same if the final day of voting was any day between Oct 1 and the actual November day.
Yeah, in the 80’s she couldn’t wear Levis 501 blues so, they invented a new line of jeans for called Levi’s 1002 blues.
She even took to wearing Gloria Thunderbutt jeans, made for her...
A clear case of early onset RBF.
Knowing what we know now.... why did Comey do that?
How did it protect him?
What did he gain?
Comey saved her from going to prison.
