Has the ground shifted in the biggest election of this off-year with less than two weeks to go? Until this month, Republican candidate Ed Gillespie consistently trailed in polls for the Virginia gubernatorial election to Democrat Ralph Northam. Gillespie scored a one-point edge in a mid-month Monmouth poll, but now shows a commanding eight-point lead in a Hampton University survey:

If only true. VA is a blue state. Gillespie will have an uphill battle. NoVA turnout will decide the election. The Dems have won the last 10 statewide elections.

Yeah, like CA. VA is gone never to be red in generations. The demography is changing rapidly fueled by mass immigration. One third of Fairfax County, the largest county in VA, is foreign-born. The 2012 election marked the first time that the ballot was in Spanish in Fairfax County.
NoVA determines who wins in VA. The Dems dominate in NoVA especially in Fairfax County, Arlington County, and Alexandria.

This includes an increase from net migration of 381,969 people into the Commonwealth since the 2010 census. Immigration from outside the United States resulted in a net increase of 159,627 people, and migration within the country produced a net increase of 155,205 people.
Aside from Virginia, the top birth state for Virginians is New York, having overtaken North Carolina in the 1990s, with the Northeast accounting for the largest number of migrants into the state by region.
The state's most populous ethnic group, Non-Hispanic White, has declined from 76% in 1990 to 62.7% in 2015. The largest minority group in Virginia is African American, at 19.7% as of 2015.
More recent immigration in the late 20th century and early 21st century has fueled new communities of Hispanics and Asians. As of 2015, 9.0% of Virginians are Hispanic or Latino (of any race), and 6.5% are Asian. The state's Hispanic population rose by 92% from 2000 to 2010, with two-thirds of Hispanics living in Northern Virginia.
The “Polls” tend to get more accurate (i.e. more Republican) the closer they are to the election.
Turnout, Turnout, Turnout, that is the key to an Ed Gillespie victory in Virginia. Am hoping POTUS, Trump can fit in a rally stop in Virginia, just before the election.
Democrat, Ralph Northham will be a death knell for the great state of Virginia, if he is elected.. Illegal Aliens and the “Gangster MS-13” thugs would have free rein across the state, there will be no decent, high paying jobs, no opportunities, continued Ghettos, high crime & drugs and few safe communities.
The voters in Virginia would have to be insane to vote for Socialist, Communist, Democrat, Ralph Northam. Folks cast your vote for Republican, Ed Gillespie, turn Virginia into the Great”RED” state she is, and MAGA!!!
And...word of caution...your present Governor, Obamabot/Clintonite, Democrat Terry McAuliffe is as low life as any human being can become. He and his Left-wing, racist buddies triggered the murder/riot in Charlottesvile, VA...a few months back.
And...he heads up the massive Illegal, Fraud voting that takes place in every election in Virginia. Beware and get them “Pubbie” poll watchers out, because I can assure you, that if the fraud voting had been controlled in the 2016 POTUS election. Trump would have won Virginia in the POTUS race.

Virginia is lost to the Republicans for years to come, if not forever. It is following in California’s footsteps.
Short of a Democrat male candidate being caught having sex with his female wife (all other sexual hookups or identities are approved), the Democrats, with the help of the establishment RINOs who run the Republican party in Virginia have ensured permanent democrat voting majorities forever.
How? By the vast number of fraudulent voters, mostly illegal aliens and green card immigrants, who have been registered in the Commonwealth thanks to no enforcement of the laws. They are not all Hispanic. Almost as many are South Asians and Middle Easterns with green cards. The SEIU, its offspring the New Virginia Majority, and the Democrat party have registered tens of thousands of them with no opposition from the Republicans who run the party from gated enclaves in McLean, Great Falls, and Richmond West End.
If establishment Republicans want to see the folly of their amnesty/open borders/cheap labor policies, come to Virginia.

Something is amiss here. I would bet this poll may be off, but most other polls are overestimating the D support by 4-5%, which has been the case for about 8-10 years in VA.
Gillespie isn’t a great guy, but he should thank his lucky stars that Donald Trump is in the White House.
No joke... It makes me sad. I was born in VA and lived there until age 20 when we moved to NC. I remember when VA always went R.
What has changed is the growth of metropolitan Washington, DC. The fastest growth is going on in the ring counties surrounding DC. There have been many transplants moving in, helping turn most of those counties Democrat. They are also the most populated in the state. The rest is red, but the biggest counties are blue.

Virginia is becoming an extension of D.C. as more and more government/political "workers' move into the area.
True. When we moved to Loudoun County in 2001 it was solid red. When we left in 2012 it really moved to dark purple/blue based on all the commies relocating from Fairfax County.

As I recall (now) President Trump lost by approximately the same number of votes from the convicted felons in jail who were suddenly all allowed to vote at the last minute by McAuliffe.

If the communist-BLM ticket loses in VA, it will provide invaluable intel for 2018 and 2020, and, if the GOP had balls, a roadmap to destroy the Democratic Party once and for all.
Fun facts:
1) To win a statewide or national race, the (D) needs 93+% of the black vote, and high black turnout.
2) The brothers will not turn out for an icy white b*tch
3) The brothers will not turn out for a metrosexual white commie, unless
4) The metrosexual white commie is all in on #BLM, either with a black running mate or some other gesture towards #Trayvon, etc, but,
5) For every one extra black vote earned that way, >1 white vote is now being lost that the RATs used to count on, and,
6) If the RATs stop their “listening safaris” into white America and start pro-white ads and even actually doing something to improve life in White Afghanistan (WVA-KY-PA-OH-MI-WI-IA), the black vote collapses and they lose anyway.
