No chance. Russia and the US are the two largest capable nuclear deterrent countries in the world. Both know that launching would be the end of the world. Nothing is gained. And to my knowledge, there are no real nut cases with this type of power within the system from those countries.
If you want to worry about someone, pick a country like North Korea with their nutcase leader who would love to start a war simply because he has nothing to lose or gain. There is evil in the world, and he is part of it. Neither Putin nor Trump is that stupid. And nuclear deterrent is nothing more than the theory of it being utilized. Example, Cuban nuclear crisis which happened long before we all knew the possibility of world destruction. If you ever have watched the movie Wargames, and watched the series of scenarios the computer was testing before deciding to stand down, that’s a really good example even if it was from Hollywood.

Before the hammer comes down on me, all I am saying is let's not be too horrified that someone else tried to do to us what we try to do to everyone else. The reality is every country that can meddles in the politics of other countries to get an advantage.
