Every detail was designed to mark Hillary Clintons moment in history from the glass ceiling at Manhattans Javits Center, where her supporters were gathered, to her and hubby Bills suite at The Peninsula hotel, selected so she could personally see Trump Tower, home to the foe she was set to crush. Then came the voter returns. In this exclusive excerpt from their fascinating new book Shattered, political reporters Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes take readers inside Hillary Clintons world on the night that changed her life and the nation forever.
Hillarys communications team decamped to the Javits Center in the Hells Kitchen section of Manhattan, where preparations for her victory party were being made. The venue, which would fill with Hillary aides, donors, friends and well-wishers over the course of the day, was chosen in large part because of its distinctive feature: a glass ceiling. If everything went as planned, it would be the glass ceiling of the presidency that lay shattered under Hillary by the end of the night.
A handful of key aides remained in the campaigns Brooklyn headquarters for Election Night, but the top brass, including [campaign manager] Robby Mook, John Podesta, and Cheryl Mills, joined Hillary and Bill Clinton on their floor at the top of The Peninsula hotel, a five-star facility a block from Trump Tower. The Clintons had their own suite, and the rest of the floor had been rented out for staff workspace and for aides, including Podesta and Abedin, to have private bedrooms.

Can’t wait for the movie.
It never gets old, does it?<

The world let forth a collective sigh of relief and joy! The dream was dead.
“Sha-doobie, shattered, shattered”, comes to mind!
I will sleep so good tonight after reading this! Thank you!
Failed to mention Hillarys infamous and vandelous hissy fit!
Buh bye, Shitlerey, when the phone don’t ring ...
As satisfying as Trump’s victory was, I always get special pleasure out of Hillary Clinton’s defeat. I have felt sorry for some of the losers in the past. Not this time.
Waaaaah, wah, wah, wah, waaaaaah.
Because it was backordered and out of stock by B & N and Amazon, we are awaiting our Audio Book copy of this. We are going on a long drive later in May and my wife wanted a “feel good” book as we do some of the drive. We got word this morning to expect it by Friday.
The other one out that has somewhat higher ratings isn’t in audio yet.
...but Elizabeth Warren wants those ruby red slippers...
Thank you for the post!
Laughing too hard!
Ditto that.
The afterglow has not abated, How sweet it is.
So she didn’t throw things? None of these articles on Election night have discussed if the Clinton Campaign really thought that they were going to win in a landslide or if they believed the media’s polls. They only say that her supporters thought she was definitely going to win.
