So guess what? In the last weeks before the election, the Hillary Clinton campaign did no polling. No. Polling. Whatsoever. Oh, it had data. Lots and lots of data. Analytics, even. Data analytics! But it had no independent information on the overall field of battle in states like Florida, Michigan, Virginia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.
So when the election began to turn Donald Trumps way, the Clinton campaign had no idea.
This is one of the thousand revelations in Shattered: Inside Hillary Clintons Doomed Campaign, the new book by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes that, for political junkies, redefines the word juicy for our time.
Campaign honcho Robby Mook was worried about overspending . . . so he declined to use pollsters to track voter preferences in the final three weeks of the campaign. Mook had learned from his time on the Obama 2012 campaign, Allen and Parnes write, that old-school polling should be used for testing messages and gauging the sentiments of the electorate and that analytics were just as good for tracking which candidate was ahead and by how much in each state.
Guess not.
Allen and Parnes report that the Republican National Committee did know but just couldnt accept it. The RNC didnt brief reporters on early November polling data it had developed in Michigan and Pennsylvania, because the upticks there were so rosy that party officials didnt believe their own data.(continued)

I didn’t realize that Hillary was part of the original crew of the “Enterprise”.

"...what campaign?..."
"...yet another backhanded attack on POTUS Trump..."
No strength, no fortitude, too many years of being afflicted with Stockholm Syndrome. None of them, not one, knew how to fight and overcome the media and the Clinton machine.
Those of us here who followed every Trump event recall vividly how Trump in the closing weeks, told he was double digits down, kept on digging, kept on campaigning, kept going to blue collar strong holds, took it right to the dems. On the other side, Clinton was sleeping, doing the Mitt Romney thing.
She is such a skank.
Hillary’s ineptness in running her campaign, which had a single goal, demonstrates how ineffective she would been as president having to deal with a multitude of goals. Hillary abilities have always been vastly overrated.
She likely would’ve lost to the socialist non-Democrat Sanders, if not for the anti-democracy Superdelegates.
Primaries are used to filter out horrible candidates like Hillary and determine what the electorate wants.
So this arrogant, elitist DNC rule enabled the loss from the start.
Also a factor: Trump. He was the only GOP, other than maybe Cruz, that could beat her or Sanders. Yeb, Rubio, Carson... Loss.
The book “Shattered” was released yesterday so most of the attention of the past few days is to gin up book sales. The author’s previous work is not impressive imo.
Still, the more the merrier. I do enjoy a happy ending.
The comments (reviews) on the amazon page are fun too.
Let's not forget the fly in the room. He beat her soundly in the second debate.
People voted for 0bama twice even knowing he was a lying slime ball. 0bama while winning the presidential election in both 2008 and 2012 he lost all for the Democrats. Why would any sane person the a lying old bat like Hillary would have a chance after the mess 0bama made?

[And yet people here insist that any Republican but Trump would have lost to her.]
Jeb would have gotten creamed.
I agree. But then, for McCain it was a win-win situation. He sides with the Democrats on almost everything anyway. So by running a no offense campaign and firing everyone on his staff who attempted to actually win the presidency for the Republicans, he was a “winner” in the end.
Thank you.
I opened a bottle of champagne and drank a bunch before going to the front porch and screaming woohoooooo just after midnight here in our suburban neighborhood! At my age the thought of heading into my twilight years with that beotch in charge so depressed me. Now, We’ve been given another chance...
Hillary’s hubris that she was the anointed candidate was her undoing in 2008 should have been evident when an obscure junior Senator from Illinois trounced her in the primaries and sewed up the nomination. In 2016 she again assumed the nomination, but was repeatedly upstaged by a doddering white haired socialist and had to resort to dirty tricks with the DNC to secure her nomination. Hillary’s campaign failed to gain any enthusiasm and her bizzare likely medical related behavior including a total collapse in September certainly turned off voters. Her message was the same old we are going to fight for..fill in the blank with the minority or special interest group...was shopworn and did not address the concern of real voters. Had Hillary won the nomination in 2008, McCane could well have been president.
McCain should have beaten The Obamanation of Desolation.
I do not think McCain nor the GOPe intended to win.
They knew that Obama was an un-American, anti-American Communist and wanted him to win so as to turn our Country into a third-world crap hole. They wanted power and riches and wanted to have someone else to blame.
