Hillary ran the worst presidential campaign ever
The New York Post ^ | April 18, 2017 | John Podhoretz

So guess what? In the last weeks before the election, the Hillary Clinton campaign did no polling. No. Polling. Whatsoever. Oh, it had data. Lots and lots of data. Analytics, even. Data analytics! But it had no independent information on the overall field of battle in states like Florida, Michigan, Virginia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.

So when the election began to turn Donald Trump’s way, the Clinton campaign had no idea.

This is one of the thousand revelations in “Shattered: Inside Hillary Clinton’s Doomed Campaign,” the new book by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes that, for political junkies, redefines the word “juicy” for our time.

Campaign honcho Robby Mook “was worried about overspending . . . so he declined to use pollsters to track voter preferences in the final three weeks of the campaign.” Mook had learned from his time on the Obama 2012 campaign, Allen and Parnes write, that “old-school polling should be used for testing messages and gauging the sentiments of the electorate and that analytics were just as good for tracking which candidate was ahead and by how much in each state.”

Guess not.

Allen and Parnes report that the Republican National Committee did know — but just couldn’t accept it. The RNC didn’t brief reporters on early November polling data it had developed in Michigan and Pennsylvania, “because the upticks there were so rosy that party officials didn’t believe their own data.”(continued)

The night of the election, no one wanted to tell her that she was losing big.
So, they decided to slowly open the door and let the CNN tell her:

Clever.

But look at her jacket (well, we must) ... Hard as it may be to imagine, she probably paid a couple grand for that but couldn’t afford to get the sleeves altered so they’re not inches longer than they should be? One problem with Hillary Clinton is that she’s never known who Hillary Clinton is.

My old guy greatest day/night EVER was seeing this commie dyke bitch Hillary get her fat ass handed to her on election night. Nothing comes close. I will remember that night forever.

Very well written and I agree 100% that God’s hand was in this election. I, for one, could sense it, as I’m sure others did. It was just too unusual to be anything other than the guiding hand of the Lord.

It's true, for a multitude of reasons that were discussed here, ad infinitum, for months on end.

The Never Trumpers. Doing the dividing to conquer work the democrats can’t do themselves.

She wasn’t a great candidate to begin with

That's a galactic sized understatement.

Clinton fizzled upon nomination. She failed to launch. She was never in it.

Still seems unreal that we dodged that bullet to the brain.

Agree, still not quite settled in that we are safe for the moment.

I agree with them.

Hillary was not a great candidate. However, any other Republican would have capitulated at the first cry of "racism" or "sexism." Trump didn't.

They did know they were swing states, they thought they were going to steal them like they did the last two elections.

We in WI finally got the voter ID stuff changed and that took a big dent out of the bussed in Illinois folks democrats couldn’t bring in, nearly as easily as the last elections.

Further the democrat base here was not nearly as amped up to vote for Hillary as they were for Obama.

Combine it with such hatred for what Obama/democrats did the last 8 years, and that Walker has actually done good things here without raising taxes, and that the entire state govt has shifted hard to the right, and they totally blew it here.

McCain should have beaten The Obamanation of Desolation.

Per what calculus?

The Republicans were trying to hold onto the White House for a third term, which has only been done once in the last 65 years by either party. It's not just hard to do, it's damn near impossible, due to the (now) established eight year pendulum swing between the parties.

The country was ready for change after eight years of Bush 43. All the Democrats needed was a charismatic campaigner who could fire up their base, and they'd win.

To have any slightest hope of overcoming the natural tendency of the voters to give the White House to the 'other guys' for eight years, the Republicans needed to run a game changing candidate - the very best in their stable. Someone who could uplift and inspire rank and file Republican voters, and swing voters as well.

Who'd they run? Frikken John McCain, who was probably the least inspiring most unlikeable prospect on their bench.

If it hadn't have been for Sarah Palin, who brought ALL of the fire and inspiration to that campaign, McCain would have lost to Obama in a historic landslide.

A couple of other Republicans were at least as tough on illegal immigration.

Who? Rubio and Cruz? Those two only began feigning a tough stance on immigration AFTER Trump shamed them into it, by boldly taking ownership of the issue.

They never fooled me for a second.

Yah... Or maybe Donald Trump is pretty damn smart, and defeated the most powerful, best funded political machine (and its media-accomplices,) in the history of the world. This is yet another backhanded attack on POTUS Trump. Hillary would have destroyed ANY other Republican, EASILY.

Step 1. Blame the Trump Voters: Uneducated, racist, white men.
Step 2. Blame Russia.
Step 3. Blame Hillary. (An improvement, but not quite the truth yet.)
...
Step Z. Donald Trump was the most-qualified candidate with the best ideas. He won a landslide victory: under-budget and in dominating fashion. His victory was so overwhelming, he could have lost Florida or Ohio AND STILL WON.

"I actually LOVE the exact way she ran her campaign and the wonderful final result!"

I'm pleased as well with the result.

But I must ask:"WHAT Hillary campaign?

Popping up at Hollywood and billionaire banker fundraisers, then disappearing for weeks?

When she DID show her face it was to crowds of hundreds in a high school gym.

The only time she actually drew "crowds" it was when some rock stars showed up to give a concert.

Even then the "crowds" wanted to see Bon Jovi and Springsteen give a free concert.

They had no interest in her whatsoever.
