With 54 percent of precincts in Georgia's 6th congressional district reporting, Democrat Jon Ossoff has 50 percent of the vote, followed by Republican Karen Handel with 18 percent and Republican Judson Hill with 10 percent. This special election is being held to fill the seat left vacant earlier this year by Republican Tom Price, who became the secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. The district covers areas of metro Atlanta, a conservative stronghold that was barely won by Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election. There are 18 candidates in the race, and if one does not receive a majority of votes, a runoff election will be held in June between the top two finishers.
The glow has left the faces of the CNN crew.
Runoff when the dem is getting 50%?
“There are 18 candidates in the race...”
Sheer idiocy. They may be handing the victory to the Democrat.
It the GOP way!
He has to get exactly 50% or more to win outright.
With $9 million to spend and waste...
I wouldn’t put it beyond the democrats having pulled some shady deals in getting a lot of republicans to run for the seat, just so the republican votes would get diluted and giving the democrat a better chance.
Conspiracy? Who knows, but, I do know how liberals operate.
Apparently, there are more votes outstanding from the conservative precincts than the more liberal ones.
“Democrat Jon Ossoff has 50 percent...”
His possible connection to Russia must be investigated.
How did the democrat manage to get 50% in a conservative district?
Is there a running total site?
Nine million dollars.
Has to be 50 plus 1 or more.
Bttt
Rush was wondering how this district, which was very solid, became more competitive. 1) many northerners voted their own states uninhabitable, left, but never made the intellectual connection, and now vote the same way here. 2) it has been gerrymandered to include some Democrat areas. 3) my republican mother in law, who died almost two years ago, has shown up on Ossoff’s list as a Democrat, meaning that she ghost voted in at least one Democratic primary since her death. No voter fraud here....the out of town dorks who show up at the door (many) looking to drive her to the poll are met with a discussion of the merits of various firearms. The state attorney general has also been contacted
Ask the stolen voting machines. It smells.
Or tricking the Democrats into spending a lot of money for a seat they won't win.
Ossoff got 60 plus percent of early voting. All those early votes were in at the start of the night. Thats how he is at 50. Will finish at 46 probably.
I’m one district away and moon bats were on the corners with ossoff signs. They were in front of the local high school.im inside the perimeter in Dekalb county. The Libs are over the top putting their hopes into this guy.
Meanwhile, how does the Republican Party allow a full horse race card of republicans to split the vote? Sheer madness
