It's not every day that the Wall Street Journal's right-leaning opinion section swoons over a Democratic politician. Gina Raimondo's outspoken championing of tax and regulator reform have made her the rare exception.
Gushing over the Rhode Island governor in a November article titled, "An Island of Rationality in Blue-State New England," opinion writer Allysia Finley praised Raimondo's focus on regulatory and tax reform, painting her as a wonky, business-friendly Democrat at odds with a left-wing base committed to fighting battles over social justice issues.
"This years election has spurred soul-searching within the Democratic Party," she wrote. "A debate rages between progressives who argue that Democrats need to double down on the partys current strategy that is, dividing the electorate into identity groups and promising a government program for every pot and those like Ms. Raimondo who believe that boosting economic growth is the only sustainable path for their country and party."
Raimondo is hoping her style of business-focused governance with a focus on high-skilled workers, worker re-training, and new tax incentives for businesses....

But modern Democrats can’t do that - they are Communists.
democRATS don’t want to work. Now, go sit down and let the adults govern.
As long as they are anti-capitalist jobs.
Why were you not for 8 years?
The Democrats’ concept of “job creation” is a union-supported position as a janitor at the DMV, as an employee of the county or state government. This is so much cleaner and “nicer” kind of job than working as a night mechanic at a taxi operation, or for a sales operation as a phone bank attendant, and besides, the union dues paid by the janitor can be diverted to the campaigns of countless Democrat office holders.
Democrats have no idea that actual jobs may be related to the productivity of the individual worker, and that the wages are keyed to that productivity.
Democrats can easily create jobs. They should....
Go away.
Stop.
Desist.
If they will do those things jobs will happen.
BI = fake news
That’s what it sounds like to me. I would think obsession with job creation should always be a priority.
They never have been before, and have no idea how to stimulate job creation.
Its like asking blind people to drive.
meaning, expanding government programs to create “jobs”.....
They’ll create a job for someone to look at what businesses are generating income - and then swoop down with a new tax. Like Pittsburgh initiating a ten percent pour tax on bars and restaurants that serve alcohol. And closing them down if the owners aren’t making enuf in profit to pay the tax. Dems will always be dim and brutal.
Interesting that RI is losing population, so much so they wil;l go to one representative. Drive people out.

plus they don’t want Trump to get any credit for creating jobs. they meed him to fail and they will actively work to ensure that he does.
“This year’s election has spurred soul-searching within the Democrat Party...”
The problem with that, Governor, is the DEMS HAVE NO SOUL.
Hate to see an Italian last name connected with a Dem governor.
