My gut worry about the polling shift toward Donald Trump (Boo-hoo)
Business Insider ^ | September 14, 2016 | Josh Barro

The polls have moved markedly in Donald Trump's favor of the last month. And now everybody who doesn't want him to be president is trying to figure out why — and whether he's going to keep gaining.

Obviously, it's been a rough few weeks for Hillary Clinton, and most of the poll analysis has focused on how she has hurt herself and what she can do to improve her position.

But here's the thought that's making me nervous: What if the shift in the polls is more about Donald Trump campaigning better?

Specifically, what if it's about the fact that he brought in a reasonably competent campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, on August 17, started listening to her advice, and became somewhat less self-destructive and more on-message?

For example, Trump has resisted the temptation to talk extensively about Clinton's pneumonia, instead staying focused on the "basket of deplorables" comment that he and his team clearly believe works to his advantage. He has gotten more attention for his positive policy messages. He even pulled off a non-embarrassing meeting with the president of Mexico.

Most importantly, he's so far avoided a repeat of the sorts of episodes that seemed to be most damaging to him in the campaign: When he attacked a low-profile person on the basis of religion or ethnicity, as he did with Khizr Khan and Gonzalo Curiel.

Obviously, these are all very low bars I am describing Trump as having cleared, and he has continued to make various outrageous statements and face various scandals....

How dare the American voters choose a candidate that THEY want as President.

It is, Trump’s message and platform are popular and for good reason. His new messaging helps the pathetic squishes feel better about voting for him.

**What if the shift in the polls is more about Donald Trump campaigning better?** He turns out huge crowds. HILLary can't get a couple hundred people in an elementary school cafeteria. But then again she spends most of her days in an ICU, so is it her fault?

If there are any terrorist attacks between now and the election, which is very likely, Trump’s numbers should go permanently up beyond Hillary’s.

Grammatically speaking, does anyone see a problem with the above?

In all fairness, you still can’t drink the water in Mexico, and if the cars were still made in Flint, you might not be able to drink the water there, either.

Industry makes a mess if you’re not careful. So does oversight of key facilities by incompetent political appointees. Happens everywhere.

Maybe it is that Trump has promised to restore the rule of law while illary has promised to amnesty every illegal alien.

Americans have consistently wanted the laws enforced for decades while our elected have consistently refused to do so.

They don’t get it. They never will. This is the kind of denial Louis XVI and his court suffered from all the way to the guillotine.

Metrosexual snowflake: Josh is a contributor to MSNBC; host of KCRW’s “Left, Right & Center”; and co-host with Linette Lopez of “Hard Pass.” He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Harvard College.

They are “trying to figure out why”? I thought they were the cognitive elite. Maybe “trying to figure out why” consists of nothing more than reading the NY Times, WaPo, and center-left blogs. Well, it worked in ‘12.

My concern is that he gets ahead and Hillary has another incident, and they replace her with someone and shake this thing all up again. Trump has her beaten right now IMO save some monumental gaffe or secret. But I can’t imagine after all these years there is a secret left on Trump to reveal.

This guy is disgusting.

He says Trump’s winning because whites feel their privilege leaving.

The polls moved into his favor the moment the first RNC debate moderator asked the first question:

“Will any of you run as an independent if you don’t win the Republican nomination”.

The moment he raised his hand I was hooked. When we understand that the GOPe (RINO) is all that populates the right of the aisle, the idea that Trump - now matured into a powerhouse of strength and resolve - could take it down made me stand up and cheer.

Were Cruz to raise his hand ? I would boo. Because he doesn’t have what it takes. But Trump has been .. well.. not so much a hero to me but certainly an interesting study since I was 12. I know Donald Trump - As much as anyone in the country can really say they do (Never met the man) and I knew from the get go that if he can’t correct America that he would burn down the pit of vipers that the Communists have created.

And I still believe he will.

You think they are really scared now, wait until the day after the election and it ain’t Trump going to the Whitehouse, thank god none of my family in all parts of America are not politicians, especially democrats, well i might have a couple back east, but there will be a storm on the horizon like no other if somebody other than Trump wins.
