Hillary Clinton needs to steal the country’s attention from Trump
The Los Angeles Times' Top of the Ticket ^ | September 2, 2016 | David Horsey

Apparently, there is a famous woman running for president against Donald Trump who has a very good chance to win, not that there is much said about her in the media. Most days on cable TV news shows, in the political blogs and in the newspapers nearly all the discussion is about Trump’s latest weird tweet or bellicose speech or impulsive campaign stunt.

Is this good for Hillary Clinton? Some opine that it is. All the focus on Trump deflects attention from the nagging questions, both fair and unfair, about her actions as secretary of State, her mishandled email and her complicated ties to the Clinton Foundation. It allows her to be selective about when she talks to the media. And it frees her to spend lots of time flying around to ultra-exclusive fundraisers from Beverly Hills to Nantucket.

Arguably, this is working. Current projections put her on an open path to the 270 electoral votes she needs to capture the presidency, while Trump is struggling to maintain a lead even in solid Republican states such as Georgia and Arizona. So, who cares if Trump dominates the news?

Clinton should care. In a country where far too many voters seem more interested in being entertained than enlightened, Trump is a good show. Even though the electoral map favors Clinton, national polls do not indicate that there is much of a popular-vote gap between the two candidates — both hover in the 40s....

“There’s plenty to talk about: criminal server, criminal foundation, poor health. They just want to avoid her issues and keep runing down Trump. Why don’t they talk about her.”

Because there’s no way to talk Hillary up. Even after all these endless months, does anyone know what her platform or agenda is?

What about her campaign theme? Anyone?

“I’m With Her” is not a theme that communicates a campaign’s goals or aspirations for the country.

Essentially, Hillary is simply running because she believes the presidency is owed to her, and this comes across by way of the vacuousness of her campaign. Its all about her - not the people.

The only way she can do that is lifting up her pants leg and showing off her new catheter; but that’s not happening.

She counters Trump by saying “America is ALREADY great”, but then goes on tirades about how racist we are, how much income equality there is, and how much discrimination there is.

She doesn’t explain how it could be so horrible with Obama at the helm the past eight years.

That Salon article is so disturbing. Not only was much of it condescending, arrogant, lying B.S., that leftist disturbingly argued that the way to save democracy is by ending it and making sure the people cannot choose the leaders they prefer. It’s actually scary. And even scarier, I know there are Republicans who think this way too.

She can start by having a press conference on the Clinton Foundation, emails and pay to play.
