As a growing tide of Republicans distance themselves from their partys presidential nominee, at least one Democratic candidate is doing the same thing to Hillary Clinton.
West Virginia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jim Justice said I cannot be a supporter of Hillary Clinton during an appearance Monday on the states MetroNews radio network. Justice, a billionaire whose business interests include coal mining and West Virginias famed Greenbrier Resort, said he will not support the former secretary of state over her proposed energy policy.
The reason I cant be is her position on coal is diametrically, completely wrong in many, many different ways, Justice said.
Clinton has been haunted in West Virginia, the heart of coal country in the U.S., by a town hall meeting she held there last March during which she said, Were going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business with a transition to clean energy options. GOP nominee Donald Trump has regularly used the remark against her in his stump speeches and has held rallies in West Virginias coal country.
The former secretary of state badly lost the Democratic primary in West Virginia to Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), 51 percent to 36 percent.
Citing his own personal wealth, Justice distanced himself from presidential politics and the national Democratic Party, suggesting instead that he is running only to benefit West Virginians. While he said he will not support his partys nominee, Justice would not say for whom he planned to vote in Novembers general election.
My reason that I ran for governor was not the presidential race; my reason I ran for governor is West Virginia and our people in West Virginia, he said. I dont need to be governor for me in any way, shape, form or fashion. I need to be governor for West Virginia.
Just because we have a specific person thats running for the highest office in the land doesnt mean that Im going to just rubber-stamp it. I dont rubber-stamp anybody, Justice added.
He’s ‘Not quite there yet.”. Hillary get’s the Paul Ryan treatment.
Democrats in WV have long acted like republicans to get elected, once elected they fall right in step with any other liberal. Joe Machin ran against Obama and Obamacare. A campaign ad showed him using a shotgun to shoot at a big poster about Obamacare. As soon as he was elected to the senate he fell right in line with the other democrats and has voted with them 95% of the time, which included funding Obamacare.
She’s got a bunch of big old Secret Service boys to support her and prop her up.

She’s difficult to support ... without a crane.
Well, duh.
Since 1778. It is magnificent, but far beyond my means.
Not impressed if his only reason is her stance on coal. There are so many reasons to not support her, and that is the least of them. Of course it is because he personally is affected monetarily by her stance.
Yes, interesting Cold War-era history, in particular.

Took a pretty big hit in the June 24 flood. The PGA Greenbrier Classic had to be cancelled. About 700 flood victims were housed there for a couple of weeks. Local area got creamed.
“As a growing tide of Republicans distance themselves from their partys presidential nominee”
Yeah, everyone in the party but the voters. And they are the ones that count. There may be, and should be, a real house cleaning in congress and the senate over the next few elections. The voters should remember the GOP members that turned their heads away from the people and send them packing so we can have our choice they tried like the dickens to take away.
Maybe the problem is not that we are competitive with the liberals. Maybe we are trying to help them. Time to get tough. Time for some decisions about certain people’s future in the party. A short one.

Only because of her energy policy? What a dummy!
This clown will turn out just like the traitor Manchin.
He means, he can’t be a democrat until after he is elected
I have not met one person there who said they would vote for Hillary.
