"I think what you are seeing on the campaign is a continuation of a good couple of weeks that Donald Trump has had," he told reporters on a conference call, noting the Republican presidential nominee's "prepared, mature comments on the campaign trail."
"It's going to be important for us and for Donald Trump to continue down this measured path that he's on and if he does that, I think he's going to be tied or ahead at or just after Labor Day."

Everyone knows the problems inherent with "peaking too soon" in any competitive endeavor. Timing is SO important. Trump is on the right path right now, upping the focus on Hillary and her dangerous platform as he gains in polls.
His Town Hall tonight with Hannity was a stroke of genius. Perfect timing after visiting the flooding communities.
Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow he'll be applying more and more pressure on Hillary's email and Foundation scandals, adding to the pressure she brought on herself.
By Labor Day Trump will be riding on top of a crest surging with issues agreement, voter confidence and personal trust and affection.....and the next 8 weeks up to and including election day will show him maintaining his position AND AT HIS PEAK!
Hillary's campaign is frightened, disorganized, plodding, colorless and spiritless....and she's been unable to find any consistent crest to ride. SHE WILL NOT PEAK AT ALL!
By November 8th, Trump will be an unbeatable, powerful tsunami while Hillary will be on shore, all washed up, slowly being covered, smothered and forgotten under the shifting sands of time.

You make a valuable point about peaking too soon. The media peaked too soon in their all out assault on Trump right after the Hillary convention. By the wild and totally irresponsible way they have attacked Trump and ignored Hillary, they have alerted everybody without reservation about their intents. Normally they’re much more subtle.
Now they’ve peed in their own punchbowl because they failed to kill Trump and their credibility with any remaining undecideds is shot and they’ve really charge up our base. By the way I agree the Town Hall Hannity did with him tonight brings lots of wavering women voters back to Trump’s side. Powerful stuff showing so many suffering mothers!
Every point you made is astute and spot on.

Every day he gets more comfortable with the teleprompters and he stays on message, which for the mushy mindless, appears to be more important than what he actually says. And he's picking up steam, by hitting Clinton with FACTS, which are irrefutable.
The debates will nail her bloated carcass to the wall, because her "debate" style is either screeching bellicosity or droning pedantic inanities. And this isn't the Hillary of old...she now gets very distracted and forgetful to boot. The more people see her, the less they like her. The ONLY reason her numbers haven't tanked, is because she's been in hiding!
I think you got it figured out right. Only people who are energized by Hillary are the media talking heads on TV and the Clinton gang from 24 years ago, who all are now well into senior citizenship.
Defeatist much?

“...and that 56% is probably recent peak.”
I scanned Real Clear and they have never had him at 56%.
