The fight over rules that could upend the Republican National Convention officially began in earnest Thursday, as delegates began circulating the first proposed rule for this year's convention in Cleveland.

A draft rule, obtained by MSNBC, would effectively lock-in Donald Trump as the GOP nominee and kill the "Stop Trump" movement once and for all.

“Some of my email friends grumble about Trump being too rough around the edges and not “presidential” enough for the job.”

The man is leading a counter-revolution. Name me one person who has ever done that and NOT been a little rough around the edges.

Oh, BTW, “rough around the edges” used to be called “gritty” or “feisty” or “courageous,” back when we used to be America.

The Republicans have lied to me and I believed them going all the way back to 2010 when they said,”Elect me and I will repeal obamacare.” Now, I do not believe anything they say.

Unfortunately they have to be watched like hawks. I speculate that like Hastert many of them have stuff in their past they don't want to get out. Unfortunately the power structure finds out and holds it over their head.

Honor is something that is in short supply in our elected officials and so you are correct not to trust them. But at the same time what was your choice? Some democrat who you know will vote leftist every chance he/she gets or the slime Republican who might keep his promises 50% of the time.

Did they also have pledges they signed, in the past that you are speaking of?

This whole thing is like a bad joke, not funny at all and all the excuses thrown up as to why it’s so clever for cruz/kasich et al to withhold their support, is looking mighty thin.

Moreover, we don’t need a man to be perfect, we need a man to be a leader. We have been literally dying for a leader. I like this Grant, he fights.

Also, it’s one thing to send majorities up there, quite another to capture the leadership. That takes more than a few cycles.
