I would love to see a Trump/Sessions ticket.
Please, pretty please, with a cherry on top!
The article says Corker, say it isn’t so.
I would love to see a Trump/Sessions ticket...
The man knows how to do the House and Senate, he knows what Trump wants, and he’s very qualified...
I have not been able to wrap myself around Newt, and the only other one I really like is Rand Paul...So out of those two, things would be good...
As long as it is not a cheap labor importer, I’m good.
Corker is a non-starter.
Take a look around to Selma, Alabama...
He’d be a great VP choice. For the record he’s only 3 years younger than Newt, who so many seem to think is “too old”.
If he’s not going to zero in on a single state (and that strategy has not worked in SOME time), Sessions is a GREAT pick.
One, Sessions is qualified
Two, Sessions was on board early, so he doesn’t have to walk anything back
Three, he is considered to be principled, intelligent and able.
Four, they are politically compatible on this campaign’s core issues.
Five, this makes Sessions the de facto leader of the “regular” conservatives, this means that full-spectrum conservatism has continuity and will be mostly immune from the Republican Party earthquake that is taking place. Pity that he’s as old as Trump.
Six, ready on day one.
Seven, Alabama will replace him with another Republican, and likely a conservative vote, even if note as good as Sessions himself.
alabama is going republican no matter what. the one thing you want in a VP is the possibility of flipping a state; someone that would move votes in OH, WI, or PA, just for examples, is what he should be looking for.
This stori was being touted when Corker and trump met. It is shade pure and simple
I would be good with Sessions
Looks like the same old list that’s been kicking around for some time.
Yes, Jeff Session.
Great VP choice. Jeff Sessions would make a great President down the line.
I would really hate to see the senate lose Jeff Sessions more than I’d like to see him as VP. Other people can be good VPs but Sessions is indispensable to the Senate.
Sessions should be at the top of the list.
As much as I didn’t like him as a presidential candidate, Kasich makes a lot of sense. He’s very strong in Ohio, a state we have to win, he’s very moderate and dull, qualities that balance Trump in the minds of party moderates. He’s very strong on budget issues and, honestly, he’s “out of the way” of practically every major issue except to break ties in the Senate. Plus, the media has spent 9 months singing his praises so they absolutely can’t full-blown attack him the way they did Palin.
Plus, if he makes the deal at a time when Kasich delegates have to get on board, it will strengthen Trump’s hand at the convention.
The question would be whether the two can stand each other.
Wake up people! Donald Trump can’t win without a conservative woman on the GOP ticket!
Nothing to say bad about Jeff Sessions...but from a ‘gut’ level...I’m not feelin it..
I think DT needs someone like Sessions...but younger, more ‘pizzazz’... who can attack the left with an edge.
... Gingrichs name keeps coming around.... He does not debate... he “eviscerates”..I think he is too old also...but if we can combine the Sessions with the Gingrich and put them in the younger body I think that’s the man or woman we need.
Rumor about Brown (Scott Brown?) was false then?
OK, now I’ll go read the article.
There is a lot to like about Jeff Sessions, but he’s kind of long in the tooth. Bob Corker would do nothing for me.
As for Michael Flynn, I’ve been hearing rumors about a retired general being chosen. Flynn has great potential, and he certainly has impressive national security credentials. I’d need to know more about him, though.
