Donald Trump vowed to put a tremendous amount of his own money into his campaign even suggesting Sunday he might sell one of his own buildings from his real estate empire to get into the White House.
Trump acknowledged financing his primary campaign with millions in loans and small-dollar donations but said competing in a general election against a well-financed Democrat would be expensive.
Id have to sell a building, would I? he told Fox News. I dont know. I have the option to do that.
The likely GOP nominee has been working with Washington Republicans to raise money and has a $100 million commitment from conservative billionaire magnate Sheldon Adelson, but faces a backlash from several wealthy GOP donors, according to reports....

He can do a structured refi on several buildings as a package and retain ownership. I am sure some guys on the Street are pitching him on that as well as forming a REIT and selling the buildings to himself among other ideas. Talk like this is like blood in the water for financiers he wants to jerk around.
Well, Trump keep telling people how wealthy he is.... really, really, really wealthy...
It's going to be tough sell to get the fence sitters who will vote for him to donate to a billionaire..
But, IMHO, when politicos start taking really big bucks from wealthy donors, thats when the trouble starts.
Say hello to President Hillary if he doesn't take wealthy donor money
Large donors quickly become hangers on and wanters.
Only if you let them...
And after he’s elected, he can sell the UN building.
Piss off...
Maybe he means the UN building ?
And after hes elected, he can sell the UN building.
The more I think of it, the more I think it’s a FANTASTIC idea.
I assume it’s owned by the US Government and not the socialist commune of NYC.
Anything we contribute is a good investment in our future.
Anything we contribute is a good investment in our future.
The system is right now in place. The RNC must do what it has to do this election cycle and Trump has to be a part of that. I do hope he addresses it all when he gets in office as President of the United States.
Hillary is spending $2 billion from Communist Dictatorships,
selling off nuclear secrets so foriegners can better nuke our shores,
and otherwise wreck havoc on our nation.
A businessman cannot compete with unlimited Govt money from dictatorships.
Seriously people, give up your new toys for a year,
sacrifice, help Trump out!
nah, small donations like Bernie. Supplemented by Trump. It won’t take a Billion, especially because Trump is a very accessible candidate
I am going to send him money.
“If he actually sells a building Ill send a bigger donation than Im planning to.”
I am on board for that.
... Talk like this is like blood in the water for financiers he wants to jerk around....
It’s undoubtedly found as Art of the Deal strategy.
There must be other options....
How about shares on one of them.....
Or he could bundle a couple of locations and sell off some stock.
In any case he is so well organized probably knows where every 2X4, brick, tile and nail went....could sell options on the bricks.
....blood in the air...Hillary..We all smell it. Nasty...
Smells like sulfur and rotten eggs.
“I can see him buying a lot of old buildings and using the stone to build a wall....guess where....”
Around New Mexico
Someone is organizing a birthday donation for his birthday June 14th. Am going to try to make a contribution then.
If we all give some we have a interest in the movement. Let him know we appreciate his effort
I'd say no chance, but he won the primaries with 1/6th of his competition (and just a third of what Bernie's spent so far.) That's some massive returns on the dollar compared to any other presidential campaign, and really, I think he means it.
