Its safe to say each of the CNN Town Halls this week painted the remaining Republican presidential candidates in a positive light and thats a good thing for those of us who see the number one priority as the need to defeat Hillary Clinton (or Bernie Sanders) in November.
Instead of #NeverTrump, we were reminded that #NeverHillary is a much more important objective than the need to settle scores, even if theres good reason to carry grudges in the first place.
Ted CruzAnd while its somewhat likely the Republican candidates favorability ratings could get a boost courtesy of CNNs idea to let each of the candidates appear with their attractive families in separate segments on different nights, it turns out theyll need the help big time.
Nick Gass of Politico reports on another new poll showing that Americans really arent wild about the GOP contenders. Donald Trump is the most unpopular top-tier presidential candidate over more than three decades of ABC News/Washington Post polls, except for former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke. That's according to the results of the latest national ratings released Thursday
Two in three Americans surveyed in the poll 67 percent said they held an unfavorable view of Trump, while just 31 percent said they saw him favorably and only 2 percent said they had no opinion of him. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz's favorability rating was marginally higher, at 36 percent, while 53 percent said they had an unfavorable view of him and 11 percent said they had no opinion. Ohio Gov. John Kasich made out the best in the poll, with 39 percent each responding that they had a favorable and unfavorable opinion of him, but 22 percent said they had no opinion either way.(continued)

Guess that’s why Jesse James was liked by so many people..
The legends do not reflect reality.
David Duke probably has more general appeal than Cruz. He got 30% when Louisiana was a purple state.
We are in a situation where the Democrats support Cruz as he is the easiest to beat in the general election. Trump will get too many crossover votes and hurt them.
Getting to know Ted Cruz is learning to like him even more
You can vote in a US election from Mumbai?
>> As you know, that has NOT been my experience. Nor the experience of many Freepers... Carry on.
By your leave, Sir...
It’s been my experience that Ted Cruz is the real deal. He first came on my radar screen when he ran against, and defeated, establishment RINO David Dewhurst for Texas senator.
Since that time I have followed him with interest as he bravely fought for Constitutional Conservatism.
I have met Ted personally, looked him in the eye, talked politics and Bible with him, which strengthened my belief that he walks the Christian Conservative walk.
I am a Freeper for twelve years now.
I suppose one could do so if they were stationed in Mumbai as a military advisor / liason... but I am not in a foreign country and I am too old to be in the military any longer...
but what that has to do with me voting in another country...I have no idea.
>I have met Ted personally, looked him in the eye, talked politics and Bible with him, which strengthened my belief that he walks the Christian Conservative walk.
That’s only because you didn’t have any votes in Iowa for him to steal from you. Ask Ben Carson what he thinks of the good Conservative Christian Cruz.
Its been my experience that Ted Cruz is the real deal.
I do however agree with your tagline...
It's called an absentee ballot. Well-known and commonplace. Tied to some locality within the US.
Now, voting for president from San Juan is a different kettle of fish.
If you are a natural born Puerto Rican, you can run for President, but you can't vote for yourself unless you first move to the mainland! LOL!

What I love about TED CRUZ is that all of his adult life (and probably earlier), he did everything humanly possible to further constitutional conservatism.
Ted’s conservatism was strong, and principled, even in college, according to his professor.
Um, no.
Family townhalls is a good idea. Voters need to see the "loving couple".
Watch his nos collapse to zero. BTW, the two don't even live together.
Here's his wife doing her best to wriggle out of his slimy embrace.
Can you blame her? This creepy picture is worth a 1000 words.
BTW, the two don’t even live together.
so then, speaking in biblical terms TED is refusing or failing to render to his wife what is called “ahem” due benevolence.
he is refusing to DWELL with her according to knowledge.
and they are abstaining from relations with each other without rendering the marital biblical requirements layed out in scripture...
who is he seeing then, and who is she seeing then...
or are they both under vows to a abstinence sect of the Catholic Church... you know, father ted and sister whatsername?
is this because of some immorality by ted, or her?
or is there some medical reason they cannot lay in the same bed?
He lives in DC....she lives in Texas. Maybe they have phone sex? (smirk)
BTW, good point on who the “loving couple” might be getting it on with outside the marriage.
You've been here a long time, Liz - this type of thing is below you. Or used to be, anyway. Is this what happens when one drinks the Trump Kool-Aide?
oh ok...that explains the $500,000 sent to Fiorina and the $1,000,000 sweetheart loan from Goldman Sachs, and bringing in the Bush family and on and on. It’s over for Cruz after the next few primaries and he knows it. His career in the Senate will be nondescript at best. I liked Cruz in the Senate but he has changed or we now see him in a different light...he comes across as a sleazy lawyer speaking from both sides of his mouth.
