Ann Coulter has been one of Donald Trump's biggest fans, but the conservative commentator said in an interview excerpt published on Monday that she cannot defend Trump's retweet of an unflattering photo of Sen. Ted Cruz's (R-TX) wife, Heidi Cruz.
During an podcast interview with Milo Yiannopoulos, another Trump supporter, Coulter said she found Trump's action upset her.
"Im a little testy with our man right now," she said.
"You are? Daddys annoyed you?" Yiannopoulos asked in response, referring to Trump.
"Our candidate is mental. Do you realize our candidate is mental? Its like constantly having to bail out your sixteen-year-old son from prison," Coulter replied. "OK, lets move past last nights tweet."
"This is the worst thing hes done," she continued, adding that Trump's comments about Sen. John McCain's (R-AZ) status as a war hero were also hard to defend.
"Everything else I could probably defend. I could, I think, off the top of my head. Most of it it was them overreacting," she said, referring to liberals. "But the McCain thing, that was OK it was a dumb joke, it didnt work. Oh, well. Didnt kill him. But that tweet last night "
Later in the interview, Coulter confirmed that she was referring to Trump's Heidi Cruz retweet when Yiannopoulos mentioned that Trump retweeted "a picture of Cruzs wife and a picture of Melania."
"Thats exactly the tweet Im talking about," Coulter said. "No, you cant defend it. This is when were bailing our sixteen-year-old out of jail."
The FFs NEVER meant for this nation to be ruled ( yes, RULED, because that IS what we are being done to now! ) by an "elite" professional political class, that once entrenched, never leaves and who passes on elected positions as though they were in THE HOUSE OF LORDS or minor royals.
Trump is a VERY patriotic person, who LOVES this nation and her people and isn't a slick, polished, trained monkey of a "professional" politician.
...”Why give it more press?”...
That’s it exactly altura....Ted said he would not let the media determine what he would or not respond to...and if he doesn’t think it deserves comment he won’t. It was plenty enough to say they were false smears....and nothing more needed to be said.
But then, of course YOU wouldn't/are incapable of understanding anything about NYC, nor the circles that Trumo travels in.
Really? Ann Coulter has been defending him on Twitter all day and since that interview where she said that.
Maybe she should up her medication.
We shall see. Trump definitely needs to think about what his positions on issues of the day should be before he states them on live TV. Dr. Ben also made the mistake, thinking he could just cobble something cogent together, based on ideas he only just barely grasped and never had to define or defend.
Trumps remarks on ‘punishing women’ for having abortions was crazy, didactic, and not even necessary to advance an argument. Why even open that Pandora’s Box, unless you want to be a “High Morals” kind of candidate, which I never took Trump to be.
I’m keeping my mind open about who I will end up voting for.
I don’t think the GOPe is going to allow Trump to progress much further w/o throwing new rules to block his path.
As stated, I don’t know what Trumps real long term intention is. Everytime he starts bashing Megyn again for a short term news cycle, I see him as less stable, less ready for the job.
...”the circles that ‘Trumo’ travels in”...
Is that a new pet name for Trump or just a screw up?....
As for his circle..it’s hardly a secret....most everybody knows as he’s made it known throughout his life.
Regarding Melania’s photo...Trump was very well aware of it being out there ‘before he ran’ it’s been no secret either.........and I did reference it made no difference to him, and still doesn’t, except he’s running for President and knows it could offend some people.
As to NYCITY culture....that’s where Trump has lived and was raised...he attests to the fact he’s a New Yorker and proud of it....most people are of their hometown....but he also is quite aware that NY has distinctions in their culture there from most of the rest of the country...just as California does.
You need to read more carefully no pardons to grasp what’s being stated so you get the point instead of jumping so quickly to assume what you want.
What is to know, Trump tells us all about NY values and the circles he runs in.

We’ve spent too long fretting about what Holland thinks. God help America.
It goes well beyond Holland...and God may very well be done with the likes of this nation....it hasn’t looked otherwise for quite some time as we’ve booted him out of pretty much everything... though he certainly continues to bless us far and above what we deserve....

I feel the same way you do. I want to defeat Hillary. I started out thinking she was inevitable, but she did not turn out to be - horrible candidate and low enthusiasm. I began with Cruz, but liked what Donald did for the issue of immigration and began to think he could win big. He has shredded it for me and if more people would step away from the confirmation bias on this site and talk to their friends, neighbors, and co-workers there is little doubt that the last month has been a disaster in many ways for the GOP front-runners. Self-inflicted damage and they just keep doubling down. That tells me their ego is more important than a future for our children.
I am now back to the horrible thought of enduring 4 years of pants suits because our candidates were selfish morons who lacked the decency to stay out of the mud and concentrate on issues. I am disgusted with both of them. I am still ABH, but we may have 4 years to debate how the two idiots snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
At least I’m not alone in this dreaded realization.
Maybe, the GOPe will manage to pull some sort of rabbit out of the hat, even if they do finagle a way over, under or around The Donald. I don’t think it will be with Paul Ryan though, unless he has somehow suddenly grown a spine, a tough skin, and found the ability to deliver a knockout punch without apologizing or walking it back the next morning. Tom Cotton maybe?
The Rep. Elite are White-Hot focused on this one cause, far more than I’ve ever seen them work against a democrat or libertarian. Many are willing to sacrifice whatever smatterings remains of their public goodwill. I’m speaking of people like Mitt, someone I used to hold in such high esteem.
What made the "difference" was how and in what way it was used. But you already knew that; didn't you, diddums.
Actually, he was raised in Queens, which though one one of the 5 boroughs that comprise NYC, is quite a different place from Manhattan. As a matter of fact, each borough consists of many different neighborhoods, each of which are also very different from the others in the same borough. And THIS, among many other things is what you don't know about nor understand at all.
Some other large metropolitan cities are the same way, though not to the extent as NYC is. That is just a statement of fact, with no impugnation or compliment to any particular place.
And just as with most other places, time and tide wait for no man and major cities all over the world go through constant change.
Many people move to NYC yet don't truly become NEW YORKERS in any REAL sense.
It also depends on socio-economic class and generational changes, as to what exactly NYC "culture" is.
Your generalizations and inferences are therefore uneducated, uninformed, untrue, and actually very funny to those who know and understand such things.
You need to know WHAT you're talking about, so that your posts don't look as foolish as they often do.
...”What is to know, Trump tells us all about NY values and the circles he runs in”...
Yep....and we knew this even before he announced his run...loves the press and being in front of camera’s rolling any time and place..and if they aren’t he’ll create something to bring them back at it.
-—adding that Trump’s comments about Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) status as a war hero were also hard to defend.-—
Wrong, Ann.
Songbird McCain is not a hero. Not as a serviceman and certainly not as a Senator. The ‘hero’ BS is made up by big media to keep people from examining his record, and to make sure he remains a tool for the anti-American left.
AC is hurting her own credibility by bouncing to and fro with issues, candidates, and frequently trying to play both sides of the coin.
I agree.
Mr. Trump is in the home stretch and needs to stay on point in order to cross that finish line.
Too many slip ups and all ends up being for naught.
And here on the Campaign trail...
I’m a Trump supporter, with some degree of a headache over his continued fumbles. He’s too smart to be making these mistakes, even as a rookie politician, but I recognize his overconfident side at work. If I were his campaign manager, then I would demand final approval on all Twitter postings. I would also demand Trumps complete commitment to message discipline. “Off the cuff” has to go for the remainder of the primary. He can practically coast to a win if he shuts up and stays on message. I don’t know if teleprompters are necessary, but he needs something to keep him out of the weeds.
I’d also tell that Cory guy to let security do their job.
