If I told you at the start of the 2016 race that Mitt Romney would vote for Ted Cruz in the Utah caucuses and that Jeb Bush and Lindsey Graham would endorse the Texas senator's presidential campaign, you would have laughed. Probably loudly.
Cruz was -- and is -- hated by the Republican Party establishment, who view him as a grandstander with little interest in any of the niceties of politics. Cruz is the guy who doesn't play well with others, and whom others dislike -- a lot -- for that unwillingness to go along to get along.
And yet, here we are. All of those things have come to pass with Bush's endorsement -- he called Cruz a "consistent, principled conservative" in a Facebook post Wednesday morning -- the latest domino to fall. What is now beyond dispute is that Ted Cruz, the most hated man in Washington Republican circles, is the establishment GOP candidate in the presidential race. As Cruz put it this morning in an appearance on CNN: "If you think about it, in the last 10 days we've been endorsed by Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney, Mike Lee and Mark Levin. I mean, you want to talk about a broad coalition [that is] ideologically diverse? That covers the entire spectrum of the Republican Party."(continued)

You failed to mention his Cuban father.
“Yeah a few of use will stand up to trump fascist like yourself.”
What a drama queen.
Maybe we can take up a collection and send you a Bernie shirt so you can stand up to “fascists” in style.
Hey I can look myself in the mirror right now and pat myself on the back for recognizing that Felito Cruz who has been told by his father since birth he is the 7th King is an overly ambitious forty something who has never run even so much as a popcorn stand.
He has gone from being the severely conservative principled outsider to the dirty trix, lying manipulative insider in sixty seconds. He has accepted the mantle of the GOPe without even blinking an eye.
Apparently a majority of Republicans agree with me since Teddy can’t get past about 25% in the polls. He has no chance to win the GOP nomination because most voters are just not that into him. Maybe they see the same things I do.
Could be you need to look in the mirror and ask yourself how come you are so easily fooled by a lawyer come smarmy politician who has no problem aligning himself with a known psycho like Glenn Beck.
The Establishment hates Cruz but they fear Trump will start a world war and be as destructive as any Democrat. In the past few elections the Establishment has made conservatives hold their nose and vote for the lessor of two evils, now they are being forced to support someone they hate. Good.
“The Establishment hates Cruz”
You are missing the point in your blind zeal to defend Ted Cruz. Its not the Establishment its Cruz. He is happy to don the mantle of the GOPe without a moment’s hesitation. If that does not give his supporters pause then I have no further guidance to offer. Fortunately most voters have seen the light early on and that’s why Cruz cannot get out of the low 20’s in the polls. Soon he will be back in the Senate reading Green Eggs and Ham.
Well said.
I don’t know what’s behind his mask— that’s why I am not on the Trump bandwagon. I just think that the microcosm of activists on FR are not a valid sample of Americans. Americans are not sold on substance, but showmanship, and Trump is putting on the most interesting show in decades. He is attracting a disparate block of disinterested voters from both sides. We are living in interesting times...
This is not news I’ve been telling people for months that Ted Cruz is an anti-American globalist GOPe candidate.
He is disliked at a personal level since he is a arrogant a$$. On a policy level he is solid GOPe. Pro amnesty, pro neocon wars, pro so called “free trade”, etc, etc, etc. He is GOPe thru and thru. He is owned by big banks and the Bush family.
Did you vote for Cruz or Dewhurst?
Cruz, Sarah Palins’ endorsement settled the matter for me.
If he is one of them they would love their own. They hate but him see Trump as a disaster. I despise the establishment but they are right about the disaster Trump will bring upon America.
Isn’t Cruz being used by the establishment to stop Trump from getting to 1237 with Cruz dumped at the convention?
I have it on good authority that the cognoscenti, CFR, Banksters, Goldman Sachs, NeoCons, Globalist Pinko Fascists have Cruz as their stalking horse to outlaw Americans entirely!
Don’t be stupid. Donald Trump is an experienced man of the world multi billionaire businessman. He is totally qualified to be the President of the United States. He just won’t be business as usual and the GOPe are losing their minds over it. That’s the whole point of voting for an outsider.
Guess what I am not stupid. You will find that out someday.
It’s not only insane, it’s a bald-faced lie.
Trump is the establishment whore in this race. He’s the one that has donated to and supported the establishment elites in both parties, hedging his bets, per usual. He stands for nothing but whatever profits Trump at any given moment in time. And idiots actually want this slimebag in the White House? Don’t we already have an elitist slimebag in the WH? The last thing we need is yet another one.
Vote Cruz!!!!!
More and more voters are deciding not to waste their vote on a guy who has zero chance to win and may well not be the severely conservative candidate he says he is. That’s one reason Luz cannot get past the low 20’s in the polls. He’s just so transparently disingenuous.
Yeah, and Trump was happy to accept the endorsement of the Obama-hugging RINO Chris Christie without a moment’s hesitation. And yet that endorsement didn’t give you Trump supporters any ‘pause’.
