The only defense that he and his supporters can muster is that he has "evolved" on his beliefs of nearly seven decades. This is awfully convenient, of course, considering that his new talking points match the narrative that is required to stir up what psychologists are calling the "authoritarian wing" of the Republican party. These are the Republicans who are angry about what the government is doing and who want someone strong to tell them what to think and how to act. It's the daddy-issues wing of the party - those who know enough to want change but who don't take the time to research the claims of their chosen candidate.
These people won't be reached. Instead, we're appealing to the curious- but thoughtful-Republicans who are interested in hearing what Trump has to say but who won't follow him blindly based upon the unlikely claim that he's erased 67-years of liberalism just in time to be Mr. Conservative. They will research him and come to the conclusion that he was pro-amnesty less than two years before his infamous anti-immigrant rant when he launched his campaign....

No...come on...you mean he's a politician?
What? A senator is not in position to, by will alone, order things to just be done? Even with a commie/liberal president? Even though his party was the minority party until just a year ago?
Why would you use reason?
How can you dare to use logic and law to instruct?

Wont round up illegals.
....you marooon, stRumpery won’t either and plans to bring BACK every non criminal alien that camped here for years... that’s called touch back amnesty and YOU back it. Congrats you little stRumpet! FR has gone braindead.

That’s a silly request, because back in 2012 everyone was calling it a “border fence”, not a wall.
I have heard the Donald on both sides of every issue and belong to every political party he can find.
Cruz wanted a 5x increase in H1B visas
.... absolutely false, idiot. It was a poison pill but stRumpers are too dense to understand strategy...

The bill authorizing and funding the border fence was already passed, in 2007, long before Cruz joined the Senate. We don’t need to pass any more laws, we just need an administration willing to implement the law.
Who cares?
It took Trump less than a month to get that ball rolling.
Cruz was in the Senate, the Senate is where laws get made. So where is his “Wall Law”?
I dind’t think so. More proof he’s all hat, no cattle.
Or “all talk, no action” if you prefer New York value-speak.
The bill already passed the Senate in 2007, long before Cruz took office. We don’t need any other bill passed to get the fence built.
“He never brought the issue up on his own the way Trump did.”
Wrong. He talked about it at length in the book he wrote before he ran for office.
No, the so called “poison pill” was his legalization for illegal aliens without citizenship. These two items are what Calgary Ted’s corporate masters wanted and he supported these items for years. You do not have to call people names just because Calgary Ted sucks. He sucks a lot and people don’t like being called names.
The speech referenced in this screed has Ted calling for a fence. Not a wall.
Typical.
...typical LIES from the tRumpery! He said fence, and it has to be a fence- double fence, in some places and said finish the WALL... maybe you’re too dense to recognize that he took Kay Bailey’s seat after SHE killed the funding for the wall like a good little Chamber of Commerce soldier, and Cruz has always supported the Wall and Fence to secure the border. Period

PING
Yep, and on Jun 7 we’ll know which border states with MX bought the WALL bait.
Thats the poison pill, as Im sure you know.
... nah, as a full fledged tRumpeteer, he ignores the facts and twists anything he can get his hands on... a truly dishonest posterboy for tRumpery!

Cruz's first try at filibustering was to defund Obamacare.
But the rest of the Senate Republicans refused to go along with it.
McConnell, Reid, McCain and Lady Graham then called the upstart Cruz self centered and nasty.
Then Trump came along and parroted those same words.
Then Trump supporters came along and kicked Ted Cruz some more.
And now here you are complaining that Ted Cruz didn't filibuster for the wall.
This is so dumb. Everyone knows that every position Donald Trump holds is his alone. In fact NO ONE had even thought of a wall until Trump entered the race.
And even if there was the slightest chance someone had thought of a Trump position before Trump, well no one thinks of it better or smarter than Trump.
Don’t believe me? Just ask him.
If Cruz wins a plurality of delegates, he should win a contested convention.
I wonder why Ted Cruz wasn't the one getting screamed at for being a bigot?
Donald Trump stole Ted Cruz's thunder.
How? By making immigration policy a central focus when he launched his Presidential campaign to "make America great again".
What a great lesson in leadership!
Giving lip service to such a "controversial" idea is one thing.
Actually pushing for it forcefully, and taking the resulting intense flak from an hysterical opposition and their enablers in the Lamestream Media, is quite another.
Bringing the issue to the forefront was all about emphasis, persistence, and leadership.
Go, Trump, go!
