Did Christie just spark 'draft Romney' move?
The Hill ^ | February 26, 2016 | Brent Budowsky, columnist, The Hill

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's endorsement of Donald Trump, which can only be described as stunning and shocking to the political world, will cause panic and chaos throughout the GOP establishment.

Here are some of the immediate results of the Christie move.

First, Christie's endorsement of Trump for president is devastating to the GOP establishment which was in virtual panic about the rise of Trump before Christie endorsed him and is now in a state of total panic behind the scenes.

Second, Christie's endorsement of Trump is a devastating blow to the conservative establishment, which views Trump as neither a legitimate Republican or a legitimate conservative (as I wrote in my most recent column for The Hill). The Christie move creates intense pressure on Sen. Ted Cruz (Texas), the conservative movement favorite whose candidacy would be devastated if Trump defeats him in his home state of Texas -- which is more likely today than yesterday. The Cruz candidacy was already showing signs of fading before Sen. Marco Rubio's (Fla.) strong performance in the last debate and Christie's endorsement of Trump....

Christi wants to be VP. Which is exactly the type of guy I think Trump will pick. Everyone Trump backer thinks Trump is a conservative....I will be very happily shocked if trump does not pick a horrible rino like Christi.

In what way is Romney different than Christie?

He was a left-leaning Republican governor of a liberal state. He claimed to want to govern more to the right, but had to compromise to stay elected and get some things done.

If the voters didn't like Christie, even after his performance in the NH debate, then why would anyone think they would support Romney?

Bridgegate and Obamahuggate are chump change compared to Obamacare-lite.

Vote for Romney, because if you don’t do it, no one will!

They don’t care if Romney gets voter support or not. The main thing is to have some surrogate at the convention whom they can ease in so as to stop Trump from getting the nomination. The strategy now appears to be to hold on to the Republican-controlled Senate (controlled by Republican sell outs) and then make deals with President Hillary (whom they feel pretty sure they can control).

Search works fine if you do it right. Make sure you change it to Title (not Keywords) and pick only one distinctive word from the headline, like “spark”, not the whole headline (sometimes people change them slightly).

Like this...

My question all along exactly. Maybe I'm not seeing the "whole" picture like some of you are, but why doesn't the GOP establishment (whoever those people are) just embrace and support this new guy on the block. Trump's on top of his game and winning right now. Why run him off to pick a loser again?

The Republicans need to consolidate their support behind Trump and fully promote him winning back the White House in 2017.

Once the democRATS pick Hillary, the entire party will back her in the November election. Once the GOP voters pick Trump, some conservatives will go home, complaining that their guy didn't win the primary. They won't vote and Hillary will take it in a cakewalk.

If they only knew how small, inadequate, and insecure they all appear vis-a-vis the Golden Stallion. They are all running around nipping at his heels, making fools of themselves. None of them are capable or qualified to shine his shoes.

Because what they really care about is globalism, controlled by, and for the benefit of, the multi-billionaires.

With those goals, 1) globalist candidate (Democrat) is preferable to 2) America first and last candidate (Republican). They'd prefer it to be globalist candidate (Republican) though, since they like to alternate the party which occupies the White House. It helps to keep the population under control when the voters think it will make a difference when the candidate from THEIR party gets elected. Make them think if they "throw the rascals out" that things will be all better.
