GOP voters are in a fighting mood. They aren't much interested in business-as-usual, political niceties, or even conservative purity. They want someone who will take it to Washington--someone who will go there and fight for change.
Unfortunately for the rest of the Republican field, the candidate who voters overwhelmingly think will bring change to Washington is Donald Trump. South Carolina exit polling found that, among the large subsection of GOP voters who most want a candidate who "can bring change," a whopping 45 percent supported Trump, compared with only 19 percent for Ted Cruz and 16 percent for Marco Rubio.
This isn't perhaps too much of a concern for Rubio, who is the electability/establishment candidate. It's a huge concern, however, for Cruz, who has to be the "change" candidate, leaving Trump to be the mad-as-hell/outsider candidate. If Trump is both the outsider candidate and the change candidate, then Cruz is sunk....

This article says that Cruz doesn’t yet have an alternative health care plan. Is that correct?
Perhaps Glenn Beck can re-annoint Ted on the National Mall.
He can place his hand on his Canadian Birth Certificate.
IMHO, he has to start Tuesday by winning Texas and maybe one or two more and oding well in many of the others.
He then needs to follow it up on the 8th and 15th with more wins.
If he loses Texas...I do not think he can recover at all.
if he wins nothing but Texas in these next three major weekly primaries...he will similarly be done.
But I think he has a shot at several of the upcoming primaries and if he can win Texas and five or six others over the next three weeks...he will be able to soldier on with hope.
That may be a tall order...but it is the order of the day for Cruz.
“They want someone who will take it to Washington—someone who will go there and fight for change.”
If that’s true, why don’t they continually praise 0bama who brought hope and change as a promise to all of his intents and polices?
Pathetic... i have a better chance of winning than Cruz....
Maybe he could announce Rick Santorum as his VP running mate
Who is this Cruz fella, you talk about? I’ve been watching TV news and web-sites today, no mention of a Cruz?
Trump! Heâs like Yeb, but more orange.
When will Rubio ever win a state?
You and your ilk are the reason more people here haven’t switched to Trump. You know that, right?
After March 15th Trump will be the GOP nominee.
I guess you’ll keep defending the country by electing Hillary...............
It’s over for Cruz. Once he ALL BUT ENDORSED Rubio - he proved he’s no different than any of Trump’s other opponents.
Link?
Basically Cruz said that RUBIO would be a better president than Trump in last night’s debate - it’s all over the place, but if you really need me to do your searching, I’ll find something.
And even if he does win (the Republican nomination) Hillary will stomp him like a bug. Hopefully we never get to prove that.
But Cruz will make a fine Supreme Court justice when President Trump nominates him; unless Cruz keeps making an ass of himself that is. In which case Jeff Sessions will make an equally good nominee for the Court as Cruz would have.
Who is this Cruz fella, you talk about? Iâve been watching TV news and web-sites today, no mention of a Cruz?
Sadly, Cruz has aligned himself with Rubio during and after the debate—Rubio is solid GOPe.
Reverse rapture?
Cruz should endorse Rubio. Oh he did that.
Oh, boy....who's talking about who's underwear? I've obviously missed something lolz
