GOP voters are in a fighting mood. They aren't much interested in business-as-usual, political niceties, or even conservative purity. They want someone who will take it to Washington--someone who will go there and fight for change.
Unfortunately for the rest of the Republican field, the candidate who voters overwhelmingly think will bring change to Washington is Donald Trump. South Carolina exit polling found that, among the large subsection of GOP voters who most want a candidate who "can bring change," a whopping 45 percent supported Trump, compared with only 19 percent for Ted Cruz and 16 percent for Marco Rubio.
This isn't perhaps too much of a concern for Rubio, who is the electability/establishment candidate. It's a huge concern, however, for Cruz, who has to be the "change" candidate, leaving Trump to be the mad-as-hell/outsider candidate. If Trump is both the outsider candidate and the change candidate, then Cruz is sunk....

Win more elections than the other guys. There figured it out. Free of charge
LOL too funny
Team up with Rubio, Carson, and Kasich...maybe together they’d have enough to win a poll. For another week.
“It’s a huge concern, however, for Cruz, who has to be the “change” candidate, leaving Trump to be the mad-as-hell/outsider candidate.”
Well Cruz threw that out the window last night by picking insider Rubio over Trump.
Cruzio, the amnesty pimp, will NOT win.
lol
I’m a Cruz supporter, but I do see reality. If Ted doesn’t have a VERY good showing on Super Tuesday, He, and Marco are finished. But I’m still casting my vote for Ted on April 26th.
Wow. All Cruz has to do is read this article and he can turn it all around before next Tuesday.
An act of GOD?
Trump! He’s like Yeb, but more orange.
Just parade Glenn Beck around the Super Tuesday states...
On second thought....
This article is like writing about how the Soviets can still beat us to the moon.
What will you do with all your time after March 15th?
I'm just being a patriot and defending my country.
Not to be snarky but the best chance Ted Cruz has at this point is to hope that Donald Trump falls over dead from a stroke or coronary.
The author of this piece also hasn’t been paying attention when they write:
“Trump, needless to say, has no plan for replacing Obamacare. Indeed, he has no track record of fighting Obamacare, and almost no demonstrated knowledge of what is contained within its 2,400 pages of federal largess.”
Trump has repeatedly said he will repeal Obama Care during his first week in office. If a law bad, poorly written or unworkable it is not necessary to have a replacement if returning to the way things were before the law was passed is better
Yes, as the writer says he did praise the Scottish health system but then, in the very next sentence, said it would not work in the US. So the author repeats a 1/2 Truth.
BTW: What has either Mr Cruz or Mr Rubio proposed to replace ObamaCare?
He's the only one that has beaten Trump.
And the last few primaries he's been in a SOLID third place.
No one can take his third place showing and his gigantic win in Iowa away from him.
Even as a Cruz supporter, if he mentions his father's underwear one more time in a debate, I am going to throw at the TV.
The simple objective view is Cruz would not win ANY Blue States and probably loose FL, OH, AZ, MO, KS, VA
Doing the Church Lady thing ended any chance of winning.
To win in 2016 with the combined Toon/Obama machines, we need to flip Blue States.
