Yes you are correct. The preaching of Jerimiah Wright is much more acceptable than prosperity Christianity. Media and folks will make a big deal if they believe it will damage a person they themselves hate. Think about the logic of that. Haters hating upon someone they believe is a hater. Uhmmm.
Come on you all . . . give it a break.
In my lifetime starting with JFK, Carter and Reagan et all, everyone saying they will bring there deep held religious belief system and jam it down the throats of the country. Never has happened. Too many checks for that to occur.
Too be sure, neither am I stranger to it. Many family members, mother side very much hard core penticostals as you described. Actually I found them very loving, great food and yes sometimes too judgemental. But all in all they make do in this world and contribute more to goodness than . . . well you know..

“Lots of pious Cruz supporters are vowing to stay home if Trump is the nominee.”
Very loud but not very large in number. On FR which is a very conservative site there are maybe 20 foaming-at-the-mouth cruznadians. Presented with the future reality of President Ho Chi Sanders, most of the more moderate cruz supporters will vote for the gop candidate in the end.
I’m not much of a fan of voting in the first place. If the rabid cruznadians think voting for someone other than their Precious to avoid President Ho Chi Bernie is too horrible to contemplate, then that’s their choice to make.
Keep in mind that the most rabid cruznadian controls essentially one vote: theirs. Most people choose to be sane.

Yup! Now thats funny. Glad a few around here can make fun and laugh.

Needlessly alienating people whose support you'd like to have later is not smart. But apparently, it is more important to some people to vent emotionally than to help their candidate actually win.

One of my favs. Very powerful scene.

Cruz supporters donât care. Theyâll either stay home or write Cruz in and vote âon principleâ, thus their conscience is clear. Because apparently practical reality means nothing to them. So they all think identically, eh? Way to tar such a large group of people with the same brush.
Those who speak/write as you do are the problem.

If we donât get it together say hello to nominee Marco Rubio.

If Cruz can build a time machine and then use It to go back and somehow make himself a ‘natural born citizen’ of the United States of America, I might then consider voting for his sleazy ass.

Not all, just certain extreme ones. Seen multiple self-described Cruz supporters saying as much in various threads.
I suspect most Cruz supporters recognize what’s at stake and will vote accordingly regardless of the eventual nominee.
Apologies for not qualifying my earlier statement better.

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brotherâs keeper and the finder of lost children.
And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee." Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction - 1994)
Same year (1994) James Woods makes a film with Sylvester Stallone and Sharon Stone. (The Specialist) James Woods character is trying to flush out Sylvester Stallone.
James Woods, delivers one of the most intense scene that I can remember. Might be my favorite. That scene . . . those words might describe that which is going on here at FR. ;
Now am sounding like my old man (God bless his soul) They do not make movies like they . . . blah blah blah. LOL

I’m for Cruz. I don’t hate Trump. I just think he’s insecure, narcissistic, and I don’t know where he really stands, because he has taken both sides of every issue in the past decade. He’s entertaining as can be though. And I still think he’s a better choice than any registered Demoncrat running.

I would love a Cruz/Trump ticket, but Trump’s ego would never accept 2nd position.

There are Trump supporters that respect other voter’s opinions and there are rabid Trump cultists that don’t. The rabid cultists aren’t very bright.
Is your wife a supporter or a member of the cult?

Hey it is still America, so we all should respect the other voter’s opinions~except those voting for Rubio or Bush ;)
Fairly strong opinions tho...very strong. Not into name calling and the like tho.
Little sensitive because many Trump supporters are bright— (as I said PhD)just as many Cruz supporters are bright.
And then unfortunately, there are the rabid ones—on BOTH SIDES.

I know I’ve seen The Specialist but probably just once. I don’t remember much about it so I don’t know the scene you’re talking about.
It’s a good thing I saw Pulp Fiction before Tarantino exposed himself as a cop hater because I won’t watch anything else he does from here on out.

One particular rabid Trump supporter called all Cruz supporters "...evil and immoral...". Thatâs WAY beyond bitter, thatâs total derangement. The only way that kind of attitude makes any sense is if was the Donald himself that said it.
Don't look now ...
"Anyone supporting Trump is as loony as Trump and Trump is a person with characteristics of Hitler, Mao, Mussolini and Stalin. *If Trumpettes think they know a liar then they should have their brains examined. It is impossible for me to see Trump as anything except a man without principles and a man without an honest cell in his body.
What the hell is wrong with people when they support Trump. Likely they are uneducated, ignorant, and possessed by demonic spirits. They are a disgrace to this and a disgrace to the human race and are likely anarchists like the "occupy loonies".
Never thought the people of this country could throw away the victories of those who have fought and died for freedom and liberty. God has not abandoned our nation, we have abandoned God and if Trump is our nominee I will not vote for that pile of worthless dung. And those that vote for him are even worse than he is. Call me vile or whatever but I hate Trump and the venomous puke that spews from his mouth. You worthless idiots that vote for him deserve what you get and it will be a hell hole. Iâm glad I wonât be around much longer to see how sorry this country will become from here on out. I wish I would have died with my hero buddies in battle. Their honor has been thrown away by spineless, spoiled scum and that includes the likes of Rush Limbaugh who in my mind is a traitor to his own principles. It is so outrageous what has taken over this country. Iâm ashamed to be an American."
