If he was 40 years old, not 90, I might be upset with him. But I look back on his body of work, and the joy and laughter he brought to so many people's lives, completely overshadows him emceeing an event for a person who will never be elected. You are right, and i'm not really being serious about this. I find it disturbing, but I think Dick Van Dike is more naive about what he is doing than anything else.
I just thought Old Hollywood had less mental rot in it.

Nahhhhh. Sally will giving herself a mincure and Buddy will be napping. Unless Baldy Mel comes in for his regular dose of humiliation.
Mel: I need a place to hide.
Buddy: Quick, grow some hair.

I agree. He is 90 years old and it’s probably a chance for him to perform - I don’t think he gets too many opportunities now.
Maybe Old Hollywood was just better at keeping to themselves.

There were different veins going on concurrently. The 1950s crowd that often came from live-NYC television and Broadway, then veered to Hollywood, were predominently left. The ‘old’ Hollywood 1950s studio crowd that starred in or produced things like tv-westerns and filmed dramas were much, much more apt to be conservative.
By the mid-to-late-1960s, forget it. Radicals and degenerates took over.

D@mn. I used to like him.
That’s exactly what went through my mind when I read the headline. Sigh.

You know why Peter Fonda never got drafted, don’t you?
It was because of the military’s penchant for
first name last, last name first.

Obamanomics has forced him to resume his career and it's an entertainment industry requirement.

No, Dick has expressed great admiration for Obama, too.
 He's been brain-dead for a while.
Tony Bennett sucks in this regard, too.
Liked his singing, hate his politics.
