Less than a month before the state's presidential primary, Republican front-runner Donald Trump appears to be losing steam in Oklahoma, according to a poll released Tuesday.
Trump continues to lead an eight-candidate Republican field, with 30 percent of Oklahoma GOP voters reporting that they planned to vote for the New York billionaire, down from 35 percent in a poll released Jan. 23.
"Early on, Trump's been able to channel the anger and frustration felt among Republicans toward President Obama, but anger and frustration can only take you so far in a presidential race," said Bill Shapard, founder of SoonerPoll, an Oklahoma City-based firm that conducted the poll.
Meanwhile, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz held steady at 25 percent while Florida Sen. Marco Rubio surged, rising from 10 percent in late January to 21 percent this week....

LOL!
Also, yeah. This pool was released on the day of the New Hampshire primary. Old news is old and old poll data is probably now different. Not saying Trump has a commanding lead now or anything, I have no idea. But this is kind of a moot discussion at this point.
We can see right through lying frauds like Trump.
Yep, Trump has slipped from first to first in OK.
The poll has a 4.8 Moe, high.
No movement for Cruz from previous poll.
Also:
“Trump performed best among self-described moderate to liberal Republicans. Among liberal Republicans, Trump garnered 33.5 percent, and among moderate Republicans, he took 36.9 percent. Cruz led the pack among self-described conservative Republicans, where he received 28.8 percent.”
Cruz MUST do better with conservatives than he has. It appears that Rubio picked up the change, not Cruz.
Ted Cruz’s father didn’t gift him $200 million dollars.
Ted Cruzâs father didnât gift him $200 million dollars.
Neither did Trump’s, but it’s nice to see Occupy Democrats facebook image memes being repeated on FreeRepublic.
Well, you would know more about that than I would.
I am just outside Guthrie. Trump is who most people I know talk about. I had planned to go to Tulsa last month, but came down with bronchitis, or the hour and a half drive would have been done. Still hoping he makes it to OKC again. I know one person who is for Rubio, but he also thought Carly would be the “One”. Cruz comes second, but Trump is polling #1 in my little corner of the world.
OH NOES....He slipped off the plateau into the fjord he was pining for.
I guess I know enough not to attack the candidates I don’t like from the left. But if you want to complain about an American family working hard and achieving success, and keeping the family business in the family for several generations, be my guest.
IF it’s from before the big win in NH it’s stale. Lot of people may take it as a sign he’s for real.
Yeah, okay.
Another analytical genius popping his gums.
“We can see through lying frauds like Trump”.
But you can’t see through lying amnesty frauds like Rubio?
I am just outside Guthrie. Trump is who most people I know talk about.
Great town, Guthrie..one of the few, if not the only one where the entire city is protected as a National Historic landmark..the entire town..We honor and respect our history and our flag out here.
Trump can count on us..but he already knows that.
LOL perfect!
Same here, I do not where the Cruz campaign got my email, but I am being bombarded for contributions.
I believe Cruz’s ground game will ensure he comes in second. Of course, no one including Trump, Cruz, etc can have a bad debate performance. If Rubio slips up it is over for him period. Bush nor Kasich can have a bad performance and continue in the race. Cruz and Trump would be hurt but not knocked out unless it was unforgivably bad.
The Sooner Poll is run by Bill Shapard, Jr., CEO.
eXcept for their website.
Bill served as the Campaign Press Secretary to Senator Jim Inhofeâs 1996 re-election and eventually moved to Washington, DC, becoming the Press Secretary to U.S. Rep. J.C. Watts, Jr. He also worked on the staff of the House Republican Conference. Bill has also served as the Finance Director of the Oklahoma Republican Party.
Looks like he is seriously tied to the Republican establishment.
