Ted Cruz Just Unloaded on Donald Trump
Red State ^ | January 1, 2016 | Leon H. Wolf

Posted on 01/12/2016 1:07:36 PM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

It appears that the bromance between Ted Cruz and Donald Trump is probably over for good. I mean, it was one thing to see Donald Trump openly attacking Cruz for days on end. We've seen that before, and never before had Cruz taken the bait. It appears that this method of dealing with Trump has finally reached its end in the Cruz campaign.

(CRUZ): >>>I will say that it's more than a little strange to see Donald relying on as authoritative a liberal, left-wing, judicial activist Harvard Law professor who is a huge Hillary supporter (Ed. note - Laurence Tribe). It starts to make you think, "Gosh, why are some of Hillary's strongest supporters backing Trump?" You know, the last couple of elections the Democrats have gotten the nominee they wanted to run against in the general election. It seems the Hillary folks are very eager to support Donald Trump and the attacks that are being tossed my direction.<<<

Welcome to the party, Ted Cruz. Better late than never to call Trump what he is.

I, for one, am glad that the prominent conservative personalities who have been pretending Trump is a conservative and talking about him positively to bolster their ratings, will finally have to choose between their wallet and their ideology (and credibility) in this battle between Trump and Cruz. It's been a long time coming.

So your saying Hillary and her ilk are in charge of the country and we should defer to them about what happens to this country? At least you are honest about it.

As Trump said, “When I needed Hillary, she was there.”

Too bad the 4 dead Americans in Benghazi didn’t have that kind of pull.

So Cruz should be coy or moderate on every issue EXCEPT immigration, like Donald, to win the “Reagan Democrats”?

Fox are an extension of the Trump campaign

Wrong. Fox is all in for Jeb Bush. MSNBC would prefer to dig up Mao and run his dead body for office.

that a "President Cruz" is now a distinct possibility.

Cruz is no Donald Trump candidate. His conversion on immigration issues is literally about 2 months old, since he spent the previous 9 months evading questions and refusing to take legalization off the table when specifically asked "Is legalization for illegals off the table?" Cruz's other problem is his devotion to the "Free-Trade" cult.

Cruz attracts blue collar workers because of: 1) Immigration 2) Opposition to the status quo with NAFTA and all other trade agreements.

Cruz is not a serious opponent to TPP, but, at best, only opposes certain aspects of it. The philosophy of TPP is Ted Cruz's.

If Trump is out of the race, large numbers of his voters are out of the race too, and will probably vote Democrat since they'll be turned off by the economic/trade policies of Cruz or any other GOP candidate.

Trump - an extension of the Hillary campaign, and vice versa.

Red State - Just an extension of the Cruz campaign.

Whereas Conservative Treehouse is an objective and unbiased observer and reporter on the race... /sarc

Sooner or later you Trumpophiles are going to have to face the fact that Donald Trump is not now not ever has been a conservative.

I've put my faith in 'conservatives' before. Look where that has got us.

Time for someone outside the system.

Sorry to paint Cruz with that brush but anyone inside the beltway is toxic to me.

“or an unethical liberal judge . . .”

But you repeat yourself! No need for forum shopping on this one, tails they win, heads we lose.

Team Cruz must have got the poll results on what attacks were acceptable.

Well, all that's a big fat lie, since we know that Trump has the best position possible on taxes, guns, Islam, trade, and immigration.

When people complain that Trump isn't "conservative" enough, it has nothing to do with his policies, but what they claim are his impurities in the past. But then, these same people don't care about the impurities of their own candidate, so something else is at work in their hearts.

Cruz sort of proves the point here that the Dems would put this issue to the courts...

The best thing Cruz could have done is just ignore this and laugh it off.

As a Trump supporter, I see nothing wrong with Cruz associating Trump with Tribe-— nor in Trump raising the possibility that a supreme court may find Cruz is not a natural born citizen..

Wow... Cruz seems to forget there were a faction of voters called "Reagan Democrats".

Hillary supporters are not "Reagan Democrats".

No you don't, because then you'd use their definition of natural born citizen.

Tribe supports Clinton and wants Trump to beat Cruz. They want their former donor, Bill’s apologist, the guy whose wedding they went to, to be the GOP’s nominee. They do not want some guy who doesn’t play ball with the likes of them or the RINOs.
