Not since I voted for Ronald Reagan in 1980 have I been so excited about the prospect of a true conservative as I was for 2016. With the likes of Rick Perry, Bobby Jindal, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 100% and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) 94% there was plenty to be excited about. What I didnât realize was the depth of disgust and anger that the base had for the establishment republicans. It wasnât so apparent to me given that I have been living with RINOâs and turncoats up here in Massachusetts for decades. Then enter Trump.
I could never have imagined in my wildest dreams that base conservatives who are the salt of the political earth would cast away all their convictions and support a man like Donald Trump. We here at Red state and others on talk radio have scolded Rubio for his gang of eight move. We have criticized Cruz for not attacking other candidates and we failed to support Perry when he rightfully went after Trump. We talk of second amendment rights and those of the unborn and rightfully so. Yet almost without hesitation many of us have fallen behind a man as odious as Trump....

Redstate sucks. Nothing but RINO’s. Have they got rid of Erickson yet?
No. Now shut up, you Debbie Downer.
At one time I entertained the thought that Trump was indeed a plant or a ploy who made a deal with the Clintons to vanquish the Republican field from the inside. I mean, he’d been friends with and a donor for them for years, and he’s hardly been a historic principled conservative, or even a long term Republican for that matter. Then of course there was that phone call to Bill.
I’ll probably get skewered for this, but maybe that is still the case. I say MAYBE because heck, NONE of us KNOW. Good for you if you think you do, but the reality is all ANY of us can do is go off our instincts.
And backing away from that, my instincts at this point tell me that he IS legitimately running as a Republican and if nominated is prepared to go against Hillary. He’s not one I’m planning on voting for unless and perhaps until he’s the nominee, and even then my standards for what I’m looking for aren’t met by him. But if it’s maybe going to be close, I’ll likely do what I did in 2012 and check Donald Trump for president.
I don’t think it’s inevitable that Hillary is president in 2016. BUT, I’m not counting any chickens that Trump is either. I know I’m in the minority on this site but I absolutely believe we’re in the last days. I believe there’s not much chance of “saving the country” but I sure as heck won’t stand in the way of or try to dissuade anyone from trying. I DO think that for any Christian, now is the time to focus on making sure that even if the country is taken into captivity in a one world system that YOU are not. Just as there are churches in the book of Revelation that don’t seem to have much of a chance of making it but individuals in those churches do, and just as Judah went into captivity to Nebuchadnezzar but Daniel, as well as the other 3 named Hebrew children were protected and elevated, any individual can be as well.
I look at it as God’s in control. I believe in 2nd Chronicles 7:14 but I also believe there’s a set time appointed in which God is going to say, “That’s it, I’m going to draw the curtain on all of this.” So if it’s His will for the country to go into captivity, we’ll see Hillary elected. Or maybe say Obama stay in power. Or maybe indeed Trump will be elected, but the author of the “Art of the Deal” will make a really bad deal for America.
I don’t know. All I know is I have to find ways to give myself consistent kicks in the pants to draw closer to Him and trust in Him and study His Word. I’d suggest many others do likewise.
And if Rubio is someone’s first choice at this point, I’d have a hard time calling you a conservative, or an informed one. Rubio is a neocon at best, and not a rather attractive one at that.
Hillaryous Rotten Criminal? She should be doing time in a prison. Half of the greatest crime couple in the history of the republic.
We here at Red State have said this and said that but Donald Trump doesn’t have any conviction, or maybe we just don’t get it.
No. God is in control of history, of life and death. Hillary is no more in charge than an ant crossing your table top in determined fashion, only to be smashed when noticed.
Well, “Mr. Living with Rinos and Turncoats Old Town Yankee” are you going to vote for Trump if he gets the nomination or are you going to be part of the Hillary landslide?
Lol. He should go back and read his post from nov 2012 after Romney lost.
Perry, Jindal, Rubio? How much more can one expect from Red Stain, er, Red State, the faux'ed up RINO/CINO headquarters? Thanks 2ndDivisionVet.
If she gets elected I wouldn’t be surprised that in the swearing in ceremony, instead of a Bible, the chief justice would use The Bartender’s Guide..............

America is FED UP
The rino loving Red State needs to change its name. How about Pink State?
I think Hillary is easily beatable but not by getting on a debate stage with her. She is a lawyer. She will slip and slide her way past somebody like Cruz and right into the White Hut.
Trump will mock her to death. Death by a thousand non PC cuts. Then he will get on the debate stage and mock her to her face.
“...Jeb Bush, Kasich, or Lindsay Graham?”
Clearly almost nobody is considering voting for any of them.
The other poster has it right, Cruz, Rubio, Trump (in alphabetical order) with Chris Christie the only remaining viable long shot.
The rest are not just toast, they are the crumbs in the bottom of the toaster and they should all get out. Of course they will get out, after South Carolina and/or Nevada if not before.
I’m still very sorry Walker did not hang in.
And yeah, I think any of them could beat Hillary. But if this nation follows up on the incomprehensible re-election of that nincompoop Obama with the election of the most corrupt and insufferable woman in American politics, well, I’m throwing in the towel on this country and Western Civ.
If Trump is the GOP nominee, Hillary will win.
( GOPe talking point )
********************
Absolutely not. Trump will goad Hillary into revealing her true face. The voters will recoil in disgust.
There actually is a case where I can see Hillary winning by Default.
If Ted where to be ruled ineligible to be president after He was nominated...And therefore no other republican candidate remained.
She will have the head-in-sand and muslim vote.
More Red State bs posing as news!
Trump will mop up the floor with her sack of potatoes @$$ every time she staggers to a debate lectern.
