https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fear,_uncertainty_and_doubt

Fear, uncertainty, and doubt (often shortened to FUD) is a tactic used in sales, marketing, public relations,[1][2] politics and propaganda.

FUD is generally a strategic attempt to influence perception by disseminating negative and dubious or false information. An individual firm, for example, might use FUD to invite unfavorable opinions and speculation about a competitor’s product; to increase the general estimation of switching costs among current customers; or to maintain leverage over a current business partner who could potentially become a rival.

The term originated to describe disinformation tactics in the computer hardware industry[dubious – discuss] but has since been used more broadly.[3] FUD is a manifestation of the appeal to fear.

They (NYT, MSM, Democrats and RINO GOPe, won’t quit until the votes have actually been cast. Their goal is to sew doubt, foster dissention and create an impression that the Emperor has no clothes - something they refuse to admit about their dear leader, the One, the Only, the Obama.

My understanding is that caucus goers are voters who freely attend caucuses. At least that is what happened in Colorado when I ran a caucus.

So if these voters freely attending caucuses decide to freely vote for Trump even if they weren't specifically told to do so or publicly announced ahead of time that they were going to do so then that would be OK.

Trump could have absolutely zero 'ground game' and still come away with a win.

From the article: "A successful ground game is crucial in Iowa because of the state's complicated method of caucus voting..."

The "complicated method of caucus voting" at the link in the article: "Since 2016 is a presidential election year, the first item of business will be to conduct a presidential preference poll. After the results are tabulated and announced, other state and county party business will proceed."

I guess that sounds complicated to some.

But now he faces an urgent question: Can he actually win crucial early contest states?

Translating a personality-driven campaign to the voting booth is no easy feat, especially for a candidate who has never run before.

Gees! They admit they can't do it, but they're going to do it anyway! This is exactly what's wrong with the MSM today. They are not content in reporting the news, they first need to "translate" it to fit their perception of what it should be in their eyes. The NYT and most other papers are now one huge editorial page rather than simply reporting the news. This is exactly why I dropped my subscription: The implication is that the reader isn't smart enough to draw their own conclusions from the facts because it may not agree with their perception of the facts. And they wonder why they are losing subscribers.

A loss in Iowa for Mr. Trump, where he has devoted the most resources of his campaign...

Yeah, all 250K. I wonder if they'll stop writing stories like this after he's sworn in?

Nice to see the nyt scaling back it’s hatred for Trump ever so slightly. Earlier this week, they published a Godwin-style editorial about Trump’s Weimar America.

All I know is I faithfully, and apparently blindly, made it to the poll for the last 5 elections to vote straight RNC. I have decided that this time my be my last vote, even when my candidates won they turned on me and sold me out. No more straight party line votes. If Trump and/or Cruz are on the ticket I will vote once more time. I will not vote for any incumbent that did not live up to what I expected last time. The only one in my great Senator Sesssion. I hope to someday see him as President.

Yikes!

This headline is out of the NYT, but it makes me wonder how much TRUMP even needs a big old block by block ground game.

I mean the other guys need a ground game, because they are campaigning in tall policy weeds and arguing process in the grass burrs.

That’s their best card after all, and it takes an ARMY to explain it, excuse it, argue it to sell it, .

If Iowa doesn’t “get” TRUMP by now, they don’t get anything, any way, any how, any where.

“GOT TRUMP?”

“A loss in Iowa for Mr. Trump, where he has devoted the most resources of his campaign, could imperil his leads in the next two nominating states, New Hampshire and South Carolina”

Or not.

The Slimes is just making stuff up. For example: “where he has devoted the most resources”. What resources? Trump says that so far he’s spent only a few million dollars total and as far as I know he’s done NO mass media advertising at all, whereas the other candidates in aggregate have spent close to 100 million in mass media advertising.
