Madness has gripped a segment of the Republican Party that embraces a war on its own voters as unworthy. Instead of blaming himself for a presidential campaign mired at the one percent level of support, failing to make a ripple even in his home state of South Carolina, Senator Lindsey Graham blames the GOP voters who are too driven by irrational, probably racist beliefs. Caitlin Yilek of The Hill reports:
Republican presidential candidate Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) says GOP front-runner Donald Trump is doing so well in the polls because nearly half of Republican primary voters think President Obama is a Kenyan-born Muslim.
âWell thereâs about 40 percent of the Republican primary voter who believes that Obama was born in Kenya and is a Muslim,â Graham told Boston Herald Radio on Friday, according to BuzzFeed News.
âThereâs just a dislike for President Obama that is visceral. Itâs almost irrational,â Graham added....

It doesn’t matter to me where he was born;
I care he is a Muslim/Communist/America-Hating/Gun-Grabbing/Baby-Murderer.
Graham needs to go powder his nose and go meet with Thad Cochran’s barnyard honey instead of opening his stupid effeminate yap.
We need to scrub the GOP of all the Lindsay types.
[Sen. Lindsey Graham]
Gosh, I dislike this GOPe tool. He never lets go of his leftist ways. Not that I expected him to.
My “dislike” for Obama (an extremely mild term for my true feelings) is visceral, but it’s completely rational, and it has nothing to do with whether he is actually a foreign-born Muslim or merely a culturally un-American traitor. I react to Obama the same way I do to Charles Manson, Idi Amin, Pol Pot, and others who get joy from harming the innocent in large numbers. Anyone who is not revolted by the thought of a destructive and petty tyrant like Obama is not much of a human being.
Dou you think there is a special “programming” room in the bowels of the Congress where the government handlers brainwash would be conservatives into metrosexual (or worse) liberals? Could it be something in the water?
I wonder what objective information does he base that opinion on? Sounds lke the typical elitist “everybody has one” type of opinion.
He came into Congress riding on Thurmond’s coattails, looks to me. Not only was he part of the almost-coup against Gingrich, he voted against all of the articles of impeachment against Clinton too.
I don’t know if Sen Graham’s poll numbers can get any lower but this sure should do it if anything can. I sure hope the voters of South Carolina send this joker packing next election.
I thought he was one of the impeachment managers. Are you sure he voted against the articles of impeachment.
I think Meryl Streep accidentally (or on purpose) did a Hillary impersonation in the 2004 remake of “The Manchurian Candidate”.
I don’t think we have this technology. But the movie is something else. I’s say what really transforms these people is power and money.

"Powers and Principalities" ain't just a river in Egypt.
Traditionally, I believe such a place is called a "lodge."
Lindsey, I believe you were born in America, are not a Muslim,
but I still don’t like or would vote for you.
Same with Barry the brave, don’t care where he was born or his faith.
He’s not fit for the office (or residency).
Graham and McCain are such buds I suggest that any stain on Graham should also be associated with McCain.
I agree, but think there are a lot of ways for people to become ‘co-opted’. That's why IMHO term limits are essential.
All of the GOP establishment candidates are merely playing their assigned rolls. Like Obama, their words are handed to them by others. Lindsay willingly plays the dual roles of fool and village idiot, not unlike the roles Wasserman-Schultz and Sheila Jackson Lee play for the Dems. The point is giving credibility to the leftist portrayal of the GOP base as a bunch of bigots. Lindsay was reflected in 2014 so he has 2 more years of getting free air time for denigrating a large segment of the electorate. In 2018 he’ll throw on his conservative coat, and start criticizing democrats, in preparation for his reelection campaign.
In 2016 will the people of South Carolina flock to the polls to reelect Mr. Graham for yet another term? Probably.
Actually it will be 2020, not 2016 before the voters get to reelect Lindsay.
He says 40% see through O’s deceit. I say it is closer to 75%.
