If TRUMP did resign from the party and struck out as an independent (if that is still a viable option) and the RNC gave us a choice of Rubio/Cruz to fill the vacuum. Might, Cruz, when nominated select an independent to run with him as VP?

LOL. Cruz is great. True class. But what an image of The Donald and the Cruzer in a UFC match.
This is smart on Cruz’s part. He wants to win Trump supporters over, so he can’t alienate them. I very much want Trump to win, but it would be a bonus if Cruz doesn’t go down in flames in the process. I hope he will have a bright future in front of him—just not in the Oval Office any time soon. I hope the Donald lays off of him (or at least goes relatively easy) unless it becomes absolutely necessary to take him on. The rest of the field are absolute amateur tacticians compared to these two. Cruz clearly has a strategy and intends to stick with it, regardless of the leaked tape.
