Anyone agree that the pollsters should start taking polls with a GOP Ticket VS Hillary. And do all three scenarios. Trump/Cruz, and Rubio and Carson. Odds are that any combination should give Trump and anyone an easy 10 point lead over Hillary. But the one we most want to see is a Trump/Cruz ticket VS Hillary. You all agree we could see another shellacking?
Wanna bet?
Trump is an east coast liberal and only a nominal Republican, IMHO. He talks a good game, but I'm not sure about his core principles.
Cruz is a proven conservative and a dedicated Christian from the heartland. He appeals to the conservative base, the South, the West, and flyover country. If anyone can get Hispanics to vote R, it would be Cruz.
I've heard that line before that "Cruz adds nothing to the ticket" and it's a lie IMHO
I dont think that line of reasoning applies ,in this upcoming election, like it did in the past. The number of independents has grown way beyond any numbers of the past and everybody is pissed.
You’r looking at it wrong, but in the standard GOPe way.
Trump/Cruz would get the base out like we haven’t seen since Reagan.
(And yes, Cruz would solidify the Christian/Evangelical vote for Trump.)
Completely right, Zooker.
Trump will get the base and LOTS OF OTHERS. Cruz adds NOTHING and loses opportunity to enlarge the base. Cruz you lose. Who would help Trump? That is the 2016 question of the spring. None of the other candidates will. Maybe another Republican governor?
Trump will choose his own and that person will be the best.
Cruz for AG. He is the only man with the guts to prosecute our leaders for treason.
Nope its all about Cruz being the next President of the Senate. The Senate is in dire need of some real leadership. Something the post-turtle McConnell can’t provide. Cruz will get experience under a Trump Presidency that adds much to his resume for his own presidential bid.
Wrong—but who’s your choice for Trump’s veep?
Carson really has no business even as vice president, and Rubio is a creepy little GOPe sellout.
Cruz is the only honorable choice.
Obviously not Cruz. But I really do not know who. Needs to be a governor and, most importantly, not someone overly political or with career politician baggage. Someone that avoids alienating too many groups, that might help draw in more of the independents. I really don't know. Your suggestions?
Trump already polls better with independents than the usual GOPe milquetoast type that you are suggesting.
He’s got the independents and moderates handled himself. All he needs now is turnout from the base.
And you don’t think the base would turn out? This is not Romney we are talking about.
Such a poll will not be taken. The results would not look good for Hillary or the GOPe. The media would spike it if it were actually taken.
