Trump on Affirmative Action

Here’s what Donald Trump said in an interview on Sunday: “I’m fine with affirmative action. We’ve lived with it for a long time. And I lived with it for a long time. And I’ve had great relationships with lots of people.” What a silly answer. So Mr. Trump is “fine” with treating people differently — some better, some worse — on the basis of skin color, national origin, and sex. How come? Because “I’ve lived with it for a long time.” How does that make such discrimination more acceptable? Indeed, in this instance, the longer it has been around the less defensible it is, if the rationale is somehow to make up for past wrongs. And, of course, you can have “great relationships with lots of people” without discriminating against them. In fact, it might actually improve your relationships with lots of people. Sheesh.

I really hate to see a lot of these ‘important’ people when they hurt their brains when Trump takes over the White House!!!

A conservative president needs to pick his fights. Affirmative Action is not one that we’re going to win.
It’s not my answer, for sure.
It’s a calculated, pick-my-fights assessment of a position that he thinks will help him win a majority of the vote for president.

This is really TERRIBLE! Donald Trump doesn’t want to try to untangle the labyrinth of Affirmative Action Legislation, Court Decisions, and Regulations! We need someone from the GOPe who will promise, Scout’s Honor, to do something about Affirmative Action!

Good. This will get a few minorities to vote for him. The illegals can’t vote (in theory), so as long as he ships them out it’s all good. I don’t think Trump will be working to push and Affirmative Action amendment to the Constitution.

Well Mr. Trump, I'm just your average white man who has been hurt very badly, twice, by affirmative action! If this is "campaign strategy" (wink, wink), OK. But until you are on the GOP ballot, I'll support whoever is against "AA." if there is anybody? I'll be checking before I vote. I would put reform of affirmative action right after shutting down illegal immigration.
Trump is pulling 25% of the black vote. You keep posting these lame attacks and maybe he will get to 40%.
