COLUMBUS, Ohio Casting himself as a tax-cutting, passionate government reformer, Jeb Bush drew merely polite applause Friday from thousands of the nation's most-active tea party conservatives gathered at the billionaire industrialist Koch brothers' summit.
Only when the Republican presidential candidate wrapped up his 20-minute speech by calling for a military buildup did the more than 3,000 conservatives from around the nation join in a sustained cheer for Bush, a familiar face in American politics but a newcomer in front of the tea party crowd.
"I promise you, if I'm elected president of the United States, I will restore the traditional role of the United States as a leader for peace and security," Bush declared at the annual summit of Americans for Prosperity.
He snapped a salute to the audience before he left the stage....

Bush winning the suport of the tea party? Never going to happen.
I’m steeling it
He deserves no more than a polite applau.
I like the thought of Mrs. Bill being eased out for that reason. The Democrats will stay home if Sanders and Biden and probably Warren in the running without Mrs. Bill.
One way to arrange those letters makes as much sense as the other.
Poor Jeb. $100 million doesn’t buy as much fervor as it used to, especially when the RNC has pissed off the base for 15 years.
Bush needs to look at this... update himself about what the Tea Party thinks about immigration:

Bush, the RNC, and the old guard republicans have made it abundantly clear; that Tea Party People like me are whacko birds, nutzos, unhinged, crazies, and choose whatever insult you want and insert here,___________.
The RNC doesn’t want TEA PARTY PEOPLE like me, we are unstable and won’t toe the RNC line.
Well they can just KISS MY SKINNY, WHITE, HAIRY, REDNECK, ANTI-ILLEGAL ALIEN, ANTI-UN, ANTI-ABORTION, ANTI-GUN CONTROL, ANTI-NWO, ANTI-UNCONSTITUTIONAL ass goodby.
Worst part of it is; I always considered myself a pretty good Republican, in the old PALEOCON mold.
Like RONALD THE MAGNIFICENT said about the Democrat Party,”I DIDN’T LEAVE THEM, THEY LEFT ME”.
Bush is pro-Amnesty. Discussion over.
Bring on Ted Cruz!
I don’t know why JEB! is doing this. After all, he did say he didn’t need help from conservatives to win the election.
A military build up and tax cuts. Yay.
“I promise you”: three untrue words from the mouths of a Bush!
Better stick around a little longer, at least for the 2016 primaries and possibly the closing of the whole GOP thereafter
The polite applause is appropriate when a candidate expresses an opinion with which you agree, even if overall you would not choose to support him.
Oh I will stick around and vote a little longer I think; but since 2008 I only work and vote for those candidates that in my opinion are as close to the Constitution as I am.
