Some people want to vote for Hillary; others want to vote Jeb. Still, there are others who prefer Carly, Ted Cruz, Ben Carson or The Donald. But when it comes to the 2016 Presidential Election, this much we can all agree on: We want more Jon Stewart.
Now, theres a new petition making the rounds that might just make that American dream come true. And if this Change.org movement has its way, the recently-retired Daily Show host will moderate an upcoming Presidential debate.
Jon Stewart is more than qualified to tackle the moderating job, says the petition. Mr. Stewart has interviewed 15 heads of state, 22 members of the United States Cabinet, 32 members of the United States Senate, 7 members of the United States House of Representatives, and scores of other political leaders from this country and around the world while establishing himself as the most trusted person in (satirical) news.
As Daily Show fans know by now, Stewart left the show earlier this month, and will be replaced by Trevor Noah in September. Although Stewart has been secretive about where hell take his career next and he undoubtedly has plenty of options moderating a debate would actually be a good way to maintain his relevance on the national stage without committing to his next move.

Beyond all that, the thought of Stewart and Donald Trump addressing each other in such a venue is enough to make the mouths water of political and pop-culture junkies alike.
[An] important attribute of a moderator is trust, the petition continues, explaining why Stewart should get the gig. Many in the US believe Jon Stewart shares their worldview and values. A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll reported that 52.1 percent of respondents agree that Mr. Stewart generally shares [their] view of the world on some or most issues. Choosing Jon Stewart would be a popular choice among voters.
Although the petition is non-binding, it might be enough to get some buzz going: We ask that the Commission on Presidential Debates consider and provide the opportunity to Mr. Stewart to host one of the three major presidential debates directly preceding the 2016 election. We also wish for a public response to this petition.
At the time of this articles publishing, the petition has gathered just under 100,000 supporters. So, whether Stewart ever wants to be daily again or not, it is clear that many people out there would like to see him star in one more Show.
I might watch if Rickles was moderator.
btw, Rafael Cruz did fantastic Wed night in Buford Ga to a crowd of about 200. He did better than his son did on Medved on the drive to Buford.
Medved is right. Conservatives need to learn how to build coalitions. Rafael was right. We need another Moral Majority/Christian Coalition like in ‘93 to register millions to vote and get them to the polls a year later.
Of the 200, I’d guess 100 were ready to go out and do something. But nobody gave them anything to do.
I’ve mentioned I get email appeals for money but no mention of these appearances near me. Some of the attendees had the same experience I have. But some attendees state that they DID get emails from the Cruz campaign telling them of the event. So apparently Cruz has multiple lists and the right hand list doesn’t know what the left hand list is doing.
At least there’d be genuine wit, along with the insults.
I’m holding out for Emo Phillips since Sam Kinnison isn’t available.
What about Mark Steyn hosting?
Any Conservative candidate that steps foot on that stage fails the IQ test.
Let him moderate a Dem debate. Who is that now, The Hildebeast and Bernie the Commie?
I can just imagine how *that* would go over...
I want Jon Stewart to jump off the Brooklyn Bridge. Who wants to sign my petition?
Eff him and the horse he rode in on.
John Stewart can moderate a debate if Ted Nugent can moderate one. That’s the deal I’d make with leftists.
Candy couldn't use the "I'm just a comedian" excuse afterwards.
Or at any rate, she didn't use it.
perfect.
I look at these two together and lol
The Dems haven’t had a debate?
What, Bill Maher isn’t available?
The inmates are in charge of the asylum.
Just who does Jon Stewart think he is, Groucho Marx? And are the debates “You Bet Your Life”? And the secret word is....
Groucho Marx was funny, at least part of the time.
Any GOP candidate who agrees to this deserves what they get.
