Some people want to vote for Hillary; others want to vote Jeb. Still, there are others who prefer Carly, Ted Cruz, Ben Carson or The Donald. But when it comes to the 2016 Presidential Election, this much we can all agree on: We want more Jon Stewart.
Now, theres a new petition making the rounds that might just make that American dream come true. And if this Change.org movement has its way, the recently-retired Daily Show host will moderate an upcoming Presidential debate.
Jon Stewart is more than qualified to tackle the moderating job, says the petition. Mr. Stewart has interviewed 15 heads of state, 22 members of the United States Cabinet, 32 members of the United States Senate, 7 members of the United States House of Representatives, and scores of other political leaders from this country and around the world while establishing himself as the most trusted person in (satirical) news.
As Daily Show fans know by now, Stewart left the show earlier this month, and will be replaced by Trevor Noah in September. Although Stewart has been secretive about where hell take his career next and he undoubtedly has plenty of options moderating a debate would actually be a good way to maintain his relevance on the national stage without committing to his next move.

Beyond all that, the thought of Stewart and Donald Trump addressing each other in such a venue is enough to make the mouths water of political and pop-culture junkies alike.
[An] important attribute of a moderator is trust, the petition continues, explaining why Stewart should get the gig. Many in the US believe Jon Stewart shares their worldview and values. A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll reported that 52.1 percent of respondents agree that Mr. Stewart generally shares [their] view of the world on some or most issues. Choosing Jon Stewart would be a popular choice among voters.
Although the petition is non-binding, it might be enough to get some buzz going: We ask that the Commission on Presidential Debates consider and provide the opportunity to Mr. Stewart to host one of the three major presidential debates directly preceding the 2016 election. We also wish for a public response to this petition.
At the time of this articles publishing, the petition has gathered just under 100,000 supporters. So, whether Stewart ever wants to be daily again or not, it is clear that many people out there would like to see him star in one more Show.
Yep, journalism has come to this.
A low IQ commedian.
Oops, that’s comedian. I was thinking Communist comedian, but nowadays, that’s almost an oxymoron.
Send the petition to the White Mosque.
Perhaps Ronald McDonald could moderate the one after that.
He couldn’t do worse than Megyn Kelly.
Right. Liebowitz is a putz. He will pitch for a third term for asshole before he asks a single question.
Refuse to participate.
Jon Stewart is a comedy wannabee.
I wonder who he’d rather pre-debate coordination meetings with; Hillery, Bernie, or Lefty Lefttard.
Who's this "we" you're talking about? Do you have a mouse in your pocket? Or a tapeworm?
as long as he sits next to Levin
Wish in one hand and Shiite in another.......
tapeworm, obviously.
He should conduct the Democratic/Moslem Brotherhood
pRes_ _ential debate; and he is credentialed
being out of work.
Sure. If those petitioners are OK with a democrat debate between Clinton, Sanders, and whichever other weirdos will end up running on the Dim ticket, being moderated by Mark Levin.
The (alleged) purpose of the debates is to put the spotlight on candidates, not the moderators. With so many candidates, each of the 3 moderators gets more camera time than any of the candidates.
Solution: No outside moderator. At the start of the debate the 10 names are put in the hat. The congresswoman from UT or IA draws 3 names from the hat. Those 3 are the moderators and allowed to only ask questions and not make statements or give speeches. The other 7 answer questions. Now each of the 10 gets more camera time. Furthermore, it gets more interesting.
The media can ask stupid questions. But a candidate runs big risk by asking a stupid question.
Seriously, why doesn’t the RNC ask Debbie Wasserman-Schultz to moderate?
Granted they would have to tape delay her because of all the obscenities she would use, but at least nobody would pretend she was in any way reasonable or objective. Because the RNC seems to feel threatened by having a moderator who isn’t a full fledged liberal-radical.
I would sign a petition to have Jon Stewart stuffed down an under-sea oil well...
...or shoved up a dead grizzly bears a$$...
Why? Is Don Rickles unavailable?
