If you had to vote in your state primary/caucus today, knowing what you know now about the various declared and probable candidates, who would you vote for? Why? Who would you like to see as the running mate for your preferred candidate? If you could help staff your candidates cabinet and other top appointments, who would you choose? If you could recommend different congressional leaders than we have now, who would they be? And who would you like to see on the Supreme Court and why? And finally, feel free to donate to Free Republic.
As for VP, I'm leaning towards Cruz. I think choosing him will cost Trump some votes but that's still a winning ticket and it grooms a true conservative for the future. I think Cruz will develop well as VP and be ready to take the helm himself in 2020 or 2024.
Trump/Cruz
Trump retires after a few years and gives it to Cruz for the next 10 years!
Then Cruz picks Sarah Palin for VP. 2 yrs + 4 + 4= 10
Then Sarah Palin for the next 8.
To much wishful thinking? lol
Let’s see. There’s Cruz.
That’s it.
I'll trust him with the rest of it.
Senator Ted Cruz is the light at the end of a very long very dark tunnel!
Trump then Cruz
Ted Cruz has my vote.
Cruz
TED CRUZ and Sarah Palin.
Ann Coulter in charge of Immigration.
David Barton in charge of Education.
Trump in charge of Commerce.
Something like that!
Ted Cruz...he REMAINS the only true Conservative in this race.
~~Cruz, OR LOSE~~
Cruz #1
Walker #2
So - a NEWBIE is a derogatory term? And TROLL? WTF?
One’s opinions are measured by how many hours they spend at Free Republic? What are you, 12?
I hope this isn’t a trend.
And as for your suggestion that a spousal connection to the dreaded Goldman Sachs is insignificant — then there is no future wringing our hands over how to clean up the mess every time we elect someone only to find out they serve other interests besides voters.
That is the BIG question surrounding this election.
why don’t you and I just ignore one another...
Or you realize the guy has no real legislative record and all he’s done since getting on the scene is a lot of big talk rabble rousing which might or might not have any relationship to how he’d actually govern. He talks a good game, but presidents need to do a lot more than talk.
Not my fault if the GOP can’t scrape up somebody worth voting for. I’ve grown weary of hold my nose votes.
ted cruz.
I am baffled by all the Trump support on here. Then again, maybe it is not so baffling.
Kasich
“Christie for Press Secretary” ..??
I don’t get the “Governor” lowering himself to be just a “Press Secretary”.
The Press job is usually a stepping stone to other positions .. I think Christie is waaaaaaaay past that by now.
