Over the last few weeks we’ve seen Republican consultants and pundits publicly fretting about whether Donald Trump will hurt the GOP’s brand.

What a joke!

When do those people start worrying about what Mitch McConnell, John Boehner and the rest of the GOP’s leadership are doing to the Party’s brand? Just this week-end, McConnell shut down efforts to defund Planned Parenthood, fight sanctuary cities, kill Obamacare and stop Iran from getting nukes because they might get in the way of pushing corporate welfare. At this point, Boehner and McConnell might as well just wear the logos of the corporations and wealthy donors that sponsor them because they’ve turned their backs on conservatives and the country to cater to them.

So, don’t worry about Donald Trump. Trump is good for the Republican Party.

I’m no fan of Trump, but all your points are on the money. If all this leads to the implosion of the Republican Party with conservatives bailing to form their own political unit then so be it. The GOPe can complain all they want about The Donald but those idiots have no one but themselves to blame for the Republican Party’s predicament, and because of them a great opportunity to destroy the Democratic Party was allowed to slip away. 2016 will be quite an interesting political year.

What I like about what Trump is doing is what so many of us in the silent majority have been talking about. No. 1 he is calling out the GOPe as being nothing but Dem. lite. Second, he keeps mentioning the Washington Cartel....Lobyists who control where the money is to be spent in campaigns. The writing is easily seen on the wall....go along with what we want and we will furnish campaign money to you. Go against us and we will back your opponent.

There are a few folks who are “fly by’s” and will post same meme like a broken record on every Trump thread.

“Trump is not conservative”, and then list some stuff from 15 or more years ago Trump might have said, but never the context in which he said it.

My worry is Trump’s history isn’t consistent with conservative values. I see a man saying all the right things, but not meaning any of it simply to use conservatives whom he greatly disrespects for his personal gain. The words are right, but the source is wrong.

IF Trump goes third party it will be handing the Democrats the prize, and I wouldn’t put that past the intent of the man.
