When will Jim banish Trump supporters from FR, like he did with Giuliani advocates? [JR @ 305]
one man's opinion...

Posted on 07/25/2015 2:15:15 PM PDT by ken5050

On 4/23/2007, Jim Robinson posted a manifesto, "Giuliani as the GOP presidential nominee would be a dagger in the heart of the conservative movement" (and a knife in the back) . The thread was subtitled, "The only difference in a Liberal Rudy Giuliani and Liberal Hillary Clinton is the fact of which bathrooms they select to use and there are some who are willing to even question that.

“What Trump IS, is a narcissistic, megalomaniacal, bloviating asshole.”

You might want to pay your closest mirror a timely visit!

I agree with what you say, but I am not a big fan of banishment, in general.

Hopefully, at some point, the current Trump-worshipers will deny that they EVER supported Trump. Maybe that's for the best.

Some support Trump so much, I will be curious to see if they vote Jeb or Hillary if Trump tells them to.

I don’t think the support for Trump is nearly as rabid and irrational as the support for Rudy was.

It is way worse. Trump supporters will abandon any beliefs they have, and the Constitution just because Trump (allegedly) "stands up." Even though it's clear he's lying.

Even though Trump supporters are useful idiots, I don't support banning them.

Someday Trump supporters will deny they ever supported him. May that day come soon. I just hope they don't all vote for Jeb or Hillary when Trump endorses one or both of them.

Ronald Reagan used to be a Democrat. Trump still is.

Reagan put in 25 years of conservatism before he was elected president. He didn't just wake up one morning and say stuff to get attention. Comparing Trump to Reagan is an obscenity. Reagan didn't just do everything just for himself. Reagan was a real man, not an hysterical diva like Trump.

“What, pray tell, makes “the Donald” acceptable here, whereas Giuliani was not?”

Two words: Jim Robinson.

Ken

I’m enjoying Trump beating the absolute snot out of the GOPe and media including FOX/Jebrubio network and the Coronated Cankle

And notice The Trump has rapport and politeness deal tween him and Ted

That’s no accident

But about purges here between the Epic one you allude to....haven’t you noticed but all except Ivan and Linda have returned looks like....well no Stinkspur either but nearly all that exodus came back

I myself was a target of the Shot Heard Round the World re Tony Snow versus Travis McGee purge and most of us are back too sans a couple who have sadly passed

RIP jackelope breeder

I think we should be able to have primary season here fairly zot free baring Freepers promoting one of the third rail issues here

Just fight it out

Looking back all that bloodletting over Palin four years ago seems silly....the very folks vilified for saying she’s not running she’s not geared up in the least were hated

But they were right

Trump is running and he’s taking scalps saying stuff we all feel with major name recognition and he only has detente with CRUZ

That’s worth noting and I expect is how Thompson sees it

That’s because they weren’t banned

Most left voluntarily to mad Ivan’s site wideawakes which fell apart shortly there after when howlin and others of like temperament wrested control of the site from Mad Ivan and banned him and then cannibalized one another

Folks of my zot era which took place before this exodus were mostly invited back by then and you could still watch wideawakes forum really spit vitriol this direction

They had a tacky sub forum name for all of us like any anti freeper site worth a damn must have

But they were mere pikers compared to the grand dame of anti freeper sites

Clown Posse.....now that was an anti freeper site belched straight from Satans guts following his dinner at Hells hottest greasiest taco stand...the King....so far of refuge for Freepers to go and hate on us

Wideawakes like Clown Posse imploded and purged all it could from the Internet

But many of the worst returned

And as a staunch southern freeper I can promise anyone with my most devout swear that they come back and take new names and are well represented in south bashing and making sport of social conservatives in general

It amazes me how little so many current Freepers know about the dark and dirty here

Social media is a magnet

This place your friend might turn on you then slither back under a new name and url and be your bud again

I don’t know how anyone can manage to keep it virgin here

Sorry but blind party loyalty to the republicans is over and is never coming back. Everytime we elect them to power they stab us in the backs. Most GOP in Washington are no better than the democrats we all loath. We are their plebes, and they collude together(Dem’s & GOP)against us to support their lifestyles. Cruz and Trump are the only candidates worth voting for, if neither makes it to election then I wont vote as the country is pretty much lost anyhow.

Good morning, Jim. (with apologies to all Treckies..) As a life long New Yorker, until I moved to Florida in 2008 when I retired, aside from the dubious pleasure of living next door to the Clintons for a decade, which you may remember I long documented here in my "Report from Chappaqua" posts, I've followed Trump's career ever since he emerged on the scene as a loud mouthed little pissant from Queens.

Trump's dad had long been a respected developer on Long Island. The Donald wanted the bright lights and the publicity, so he moved across the bridge into Manhattan, and started the circus. His first big project, developing a hotel "The Grand Hyatt" next to Grand Central Station, was a disaster. Way over budget, and there were stories of briber and corruption of city officials. The only reason his banks didn't foreclose on him was that they didn't want to have to write down the loan.

Then there's the long sordid history of Trump's deals in Atlantic City. Most of his hotel/casinos there are gone/bankrupt. But in its heyday, AC was roaring, and Trump was the king. Believe me, he cut lots of corners, many with the mob, to get things done, and those connections are going to be exposed. Trump was in bed with a lot of unsavory characters.

But it's your last paragraph that surprises me. Trump IS so very pro establishment. He craves their attention. Everything he does is to emulate the establishment. He built his own country clubs because they wouldn't let him join theirs.

Yes, he's confronting the open borders and illegal immigration issue, and forcing a conversation, but if he ends up costing us the election..then what?

Trump resembles Joe McCarthy in many ways. In fact, I'm going to start calling him "Tail Gunner Trump."

Sen. Joe McCarthy is best known for attempting to make the case that the US government was riddled with Soviet spies and Communist sympathizers. McCarthy was of course, correct, ( just Google “Verona Project”) but was unable to successfully make his case to the American people, in part because of his tactics and his temperament ( no doubt fueled by his alcoholism).

The left reacted to McCarthy not by confronting his allegations, but rather by the tried and true tactic of destroying the messenger. Thus “McCarthyism” has become the near universal brickbat the left to this day tosses at Republicans.

McCarthy was an alcoholic (it killed him). Trump is a narcissistic egomaniac. Which is even more dangerous.

From the many comments here, it seems that the general consensus of those who support rump is that "he's an asshole, but, by God, he's OUR asshole."

That doesn't cut it. Mark my words, the GOP debate next month will be an utter disaster for us.

Well, off to 8AM mass. According to some suggestions here, I have a lot for which to repent.

Good morning to you sir, and God bless you for all you do.

Man oh man, flaglady47....to cite Braveheart, to compare Trump to William Wallace..well, you’ve obviously OD’d on the Trump KoolAid..so there’s no point continuing the discussion. But I do hope you’ll own up when it all comes unglued.

Ken, all due respect, when I said I was surprised with your post.....I was.
It didn’t sound like any ken post I had read in all these years.

However, since we are long time Freeper Friends, I coulda/shoulda been more gracious in my words and approach.

I am defintely praying for discernment and wisdom concerning Trump.
I truly want him to be a messenger that God is using in these interesting times.....to help us by exposing and calling out our enemies.

Not to you, I get it....
but to many, he is the first breath of fresh, hopeful air we’ve breathed in a long long time.

I have been praying for mercy for our nation......I still do vehemently!!!

Ken, we have over a year to watch him, consider him, vet him, parse his words.

Let me ask you this?
Can people change?
Have you changed since you were a young man ?
Has your point of view changed?

You are on your way to church, so do you believe in the power of God to use broken vessels ......imperfect people.....for His purposes?

Exactly great post.Trump has changed the venue from Republican fighting Republican to all the disasters that are the Chicago regime over the past six years. Anyone that can't see that is blind.

I am not dedicated to Trump as POTUSA but I am enjoying his stirring the political pot. I hope he keeps on the path he is showing. I don’t give myself the wisdom or where with all to know why people act or say things as they do but I do know people especially their take on life can change. I cite Ronald Reagan as such a person when push came to shove as to his serious concern for this Nation. With this being said I know/realize that at sometime over time a person needs to take a stand.
