Republican and former governor to join GOP primary next month. Former U.S. Sen. Jim Webb announced plans to seek the Democrat nomination.
A growing list of Republicans looking to be the next U.S. president will soon add one more name to the list: Jim Gilmore.
The former Virginia governor from 1998-2002 told the Richmond Times-Dispatch that hell announce his campaign in the first week of August.
I bring to the table experience that others dont have, Gilmore told the paper.

Gilmore is the second Virginian to announce a presidential campaign. Former U.S. Sen. Jim Webb recently announced hed seek the the Democrat nomination. Both are considered long shots.
Jim Gilmore had first sought the GOP nomination in 2008, but ended his campaign early in the primary.
There are already more than a dozen candidates in the 2016 Republican primary, including Jeb Bush, Donald Trump, Marco Rubio, Chris Christie, Rand Paul, Bobby Jindal, Mike Huckabee, Lindsey Graham, Ted Cruz, Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, George Pataki, Rick Santorum, and Rick Perry.
They just opened one of those near here, surprised me, doesn’t seem like a good area for one to me, but I see people going in. 10 bucks a month it says. Wish they’d open a Jewel instead.
I think the sports media had gone overboard in absolving Bartman and pitying him.

Sure, everyone overreacted, and the players and Dusty Baker deserve most of the blame, but he still effed up.
I don’t think anyone in Chicago wants to hear his name again, whether they like the Cubs or not. Sick of hearing about it.
Game yesterday I was watching, Cubs came back to take the lead. A show I wanted to watch was coming on with 2 outs in the 9th, naturally. I turned away and forgot about it. I tune in the local sports show later on, they’re talking about the game in happy tones, so I naturally assumed they got that last out. They didn’t, they lost. I was dumbfounded why they sounded so happy. It was against St. Louis, haven’t swept them in a series in years. That was a testicle-crushing loss in my view. But people seem optimistic, it’s weird.
They look in the mirror and see the same thing they’ve seen for years, a future President. It makes perfect sense in their twisted minds.
And given that the last 3 Presidents were:
1)Some un-vetted and funny named chump who was nothing more than a failed Congressional candidate 8 years before he was elected
2)The less intelligent of HW Bush’s 2 Governor sons who was a failed baseball executive 6 years before he was elected
3)A hick with a thousand sex scandals who, 4 years before he was elected, over a President that had 89% approval at one point, gave a speech so terrible that it had the DNC ready to get one of them giant hooks to drag him off the stage.
Maybe they aren’t so crazy to think they have a chance in hell. Dream, crazy dreamers.
