Never mind the however many other Republican candidates in pack: former New York Gov. George Pataki wants to go mano a mano with Donald Trump on immigration.
Last week, Pataki called on fellow Republican presidential candidates to condemn Donald Trumps comments about Mexican immigrants during his campaign announcement.
Trumps quote: When Mexico sends its people, theyre not sending their best. Theyre not sending you. Theyre not sending you. Theyre sending people that have lots of problems, and theyre bringing those problems with us. Theyre bringing drugs. Theyre bringing crime. Theyre rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.
Since the mid-June comments, Macys, Univision and NBC have dropped relationships with Trump.
In a letter addressed to the rest of the Republican flock and ccd to Trump Pataki wrote that news coverage over the language used by Donald Trump to describe Mexicans has left me and a lot of other sensible people wondering what century we are living in.
As Donald Trump doubles down, Im asking you to join me in standing up, he said. Stand up for our party, for the ideals that made America great, and stand for the basic decency and integrity entitled to every American, no matter their heritage or nationality.
Trump lashed out on Twitter, saying Pataki was a terrible governor of NY, one of the worst wouldve been swamped if he ran again! and couldnt be elected dog catcher if he ran againso he didnt!
Today, at a roundtable with reporters in New Hampshire, Pataki challenged Trump to a one-on-one debate.
Donald Trump has a lot to say about the problems with illegal immigrants, but aside from name-calling Mexicans and hurling insults at me and some of our other opponents the American people have yet to hear anything resembling a real plan, said Pataki.
I say, lets go mano a mano on immigration policy. Lets get past the name calling and have a real substantive discussion, he added.
Patakis campaign said the governors plan will provide a process to gain legal status for only those who have obeyed the law, paid taxes, not been dependent upon government services and have been here for a number of years. Illegal immigrants would also have to perform at least 200 hours of community service as restitution for breaking the law initially.
Pataki capped off his challenge with a tweet en Español to The Donald: ¿Oye @realdonaldtrump, porque no paremos los insultos y vayamos mano a mano en la póliza de imigratión?
Ir a jugar con su pequeño wiener, George.
LOL! I think it’s funny too! OMG! I do!
And, I know it’s mean and personal, so I do at least try not to want to straighten his smile out. Makes me want to see him an interview with Greta! I’m awful. I know I am! Maybe no one will read this far down thread! Yikes!
I think Trump could handle that.
“Pataki supporters anticipate the dust-up with Trump.”
LOL, your pics really sum it all up, don’t they.
Ruffio=Rubio?
I know he’s as popular as materia alba ‘round here but I’d have to put him as high as third on my list in this bunch.
will provide a process to gain legal status for only those who have not been dependent upon government services
Well that just about eliminates them all.
I’m still too shaken up/upset about Bill Cosby to think about this right now.
I’d like to see this. Trump will “fire” Pataki.
I challenge trump to a Manos: the Hands of Fate debate.
Pataki’s campaign is so pathetic even getting embarrassed in a debate with Trump would improve things.
Hysterical. Pataki desperate for attention. He knows Trump would never give him a status raising event like that.
Well Joe, do yourself a favor and don’t look at post 24 :)
Sorry Joe, that was supposed to be defiant.
(it’s late)
I hope (and I think I know) that Trump won't take de-bate.

Roofio as in “Roofies.”
Someone that would sell out their supporters before the ink was dry on their election certificate (nevermind the fact the RINO establishment has their arm so far up his ass you can see their fingers coming out of his mouth) is not someone I would have on the short list for anything other than being run out of DC on a rail.
