Senator Lindsey Graham has made his position clear in the past that he would lead America to a more direct form of engagement with ISIS should he become president in 2016. During an election event in Des Moines, Iowa on Friday, he promised his attendees that he would say exactly what I believe on the issues, which was soon followed by an opportunity to prove it.
While Graham said at the event that hes not shy when it comes to voicing his disagreement, he has not yet suggested that the way to deal with Islamic terror extremists is by prohibiting the religions observance across America. The Des Moines Register reported that when a potential voter suggested outlawing Islam, Graham shut him down hard, saying, You know what, Im not your candidate.
I dont want you to vote for me, Graham said, cutting him off. I couldnt disagree with you more.
Graham went on to say that he was not looking to please those looking to create a prohibition, instead suggesting that strengthening the military and deploying more troops to Iraq would be a stronger approach.
Hes got a right to say whatever he wants to say, Graham said, but I have an obligation to the Republican Party, to the people of Iowa and the country as a whole to be firm on this. Im not buying into that construct. Thats not the America that I want to lead.
Well if islam is incompatible with our society and laws, what should we do with it?
Anybody pro-islam, pro-amnesty will ever see support from me.
I’m not for Lindsey Graham, but he is 100 percent correct here. If we start asking for a government that can outlaw certain faiths, it will only get abused within a generation or two and used to either create a one-religion state or to outlaw all faith. The suggestion to outlaw Islam is moronic. However, we do have a lot of work to do in taking on Islam in many other ways.
20 years ago these was a city with 7 million residents, few Muslims.
They now have 8 million residents, including 1 million Muslims.
It’s New York City.
See my tag line as guidance.
Boy Howdy, time sure changes every thing. It hasn’t been more than 6-7 months ago I was seeing posts here saying; Every President should have served in the military. Only veterans should run for that office.
Now that we have all pretty much decided who we want, no one here seems to want the only two veterans in the race. In fact, the professional politicians seem to be the front runners in both parties.
As Mr. Spock once said, “Fascinating”.
Yeah, there is that Freedom of Religion thingy in the Constitution, isn’t there?
:)
The armpits of the world.
Islam is like cancer. In the beginning it has no symptoms. The host is completely unaware of the ticking bomb inside his/her body. It spreads silently and peacefully. When it grows large enough, and when the pain shows up, it is too late and then it devours the host.
Yes, it should be banned because it, like naziism, is not a religion but a racist world-domination ideology.
I had actually forgotten the Lindsay was running. Trump has taken up all the oxygen in the room for now.
In his eagerness to publicly grandstand, Lindsay sort of overreacted to this person’s comment. The better way would have been to try to educate them on a. How that is not possible in the United States, b. How that is not the best way to approach the threat of Islam in short or long term.
You may wanna be careful throwing potential votes out of the car window like so much trash. Can you really spare it?
Reagan was technically a veteran, as was Dubya. Neither Coolidge nor Lincoln was. Al Gore is a “veteran” so is he in the mix?
Grahamnesty is an idiot. repeat as needed..
I'm not so sure. S.C. is an important primary and he could squeeze out a plurality there. Plus, he's on the same page with Sheldon Adel$on on everything. I fear Graham will do a lot better than we think.
Yeah, there is that Freedom of Religion (ie Mutual Assured Destruction in the case of Islam) thingy in the Constitution, isnt there?
Infidels never learn. ;-)
Just categorize Islam in the same category as Communists used to be, or the KKK. They are no more a religion than Nazism. No more mosques built with Saudi money. Strict rules on speech that clearly incites killing and hatred should be applied. We have let the fox into the chicken coop, allowing it to breed and multiply will not bring peace, harmony or a stronger Union to pass.
I don’t know about Gore, at this point in time there are two (2) veterans running. I just find it fascinating that now that the race is in full swing and our favorites are not veterans, we have just discarded that argument.
Rick Perry and Jim Webb?
Well, Perry is a cheap labor importation advocate and Webb is a Democrat.
