Not surprisingly, the GOP presidential debates announced last week will be open only to candidates who can legally serve as president.
That will make Fox News and CNN the first arbiters of Canada-born Ted Cruzs eligibility. By putting him on stage, they will implicitly be granting a seal of approval to the only contender born outside the U.S.
The U.S. Constitution says a president has to be a natural-born citizen. Fox and CNN both listed Article II, Section 1 among the requirements for would-be debaters. Its inconceivable that either network would invoke that requirement to shut out the Texas senator.
But there are only 10 berths at each debate. Its not so hard to imagine a candidate who doesnt make the cut heading to court to say, Hang on a second, that guy isnt even a natural-born American.
Cruz aides shrug off the possibility.
It would be an interesting spectacle, but I dont think it has anything to do with the legal precedent thats been set and accepted, said Rick Tyler...

If Obama tries to run for a third term, your information confirms that he’d be in big trouble, even though the race of a candidate is incidental.
As I said, modern day courts use the statutory term “Citizen of the United States At Birth” and the Constitutional term “natural born citizen” to be synonymous,
Since the adoption of the Citizenship Clause of the 14th Amendment in 1868, no court has ever ruled that an Article Two “natural born citizen” and a 14th Amendment “born citizen” are different from each other.
For example, Tisdale v Obama, U.S. District Court Judge John A. Gibney, Jr.: “It is well settled that those born within the United States are natural born citizens.”— U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Virginia, January 23, 2012.
There have been sixteen judicial rulings that state Barack Obama is a natural born citizen. Here’s just one more, for the sake of space:
Purpura & Moran v Obama: New Jersey Administrative Law Judge Jeff S. Masin: No court, federal, state or administrative, has accepted the challengers position that Mr. Obama is not a natural born Citizen due to the acknowledged fact that his father was born in Kenya and was a British citizen by virtue of the then applicable British Nationality Act. Nor has the fact that Obama had, or may have had, dual citizenship at the time of his birth and thereafter been held to deny him the status of natural born. It is unnecessary to reinvent the wheel here.
The petitioners legal position on this issue, however well intentioned, has no merit in law. Thus, accepting for the point of this issue that Mr. Obama was born in Hawaii, he is a natural born Citizen regardless of the status of his father. April 10, 2012

And Ted Cruz was born in Canada....
The judge was speaking specifically about the circumstances of Barack Obama’s birth.
Ted Cruz qualifies as a Citizen of the United States At Birth due to his mother’s birth in Delaware and her length of residence in the U.S.
Since 2008 there have been 226 legal challenges to Obama’s eligibility. While I expect fewer challenges for Senator Cruz, the issue will be resolved one way or the other in a courtroom. There is always the possibility that a landmark decision will rule that a natural born citizen and a Citizen of the United States At Birth are NOT synonymous.
Something to consider: Benedict Arnold was a natural born citizen. Former Vice President Aaron Burr who was tried for treason at the urging of Thomas Jefferson (but was acquitted) was a natural born citizen. Soviet Union spies Aldrich Ames of the CIA and Robert Hansson of the FBI were natural born citizens.
There is nothing inherent in being a natural born citizen that makes one loyal and America first. Most liberals are natural born citizens.
I've been deep into this debate since 2007. Two US Citizen Parents and born in the USA. That's natural born, baby. Surely we have plenty of candidates who fit this description that without having to go outside the box. I'm tired of exceptions.
As for turncoats, indeed. You do have a tricky habit of changing the subject, though :-).
You have every right to establsh whatever criteria you set for who is eligible to get your vote.
I was not changing the subject. or being tricky ;-) You said that having two citizen parents helps to insure loyalty. I say that it doesn’t. Every day now, people with two citizen parents are joining Isis.
Why are you posting hoaxes? What’s your point?
I didn’t post a hoax because there would be no point.
I'm not pointing any fingers, but posting hoaxes can indeed have a point (perhaps not for you)....e.g., trolls love all manner of posts that confuse the unaware.
Look at the title above #5’s link to what I was posting. My post was about sources of corroboration of Obama’s birthplace not his college ID.
The fact that in addition to the 1967 school application which named Honolulu as his birthplace there was a fake college ID is incidental. It was not possible for me to post that link and exclude the fake ID as they were on the same page. That was simply the best, most legible image of the St. Francis of Assisi school application that I could find on short notice.
There have been previous threads on freerepublic.com over the years dealing with that fake Columbia College ID. For example:

However, just in case you are still bothered by it, here’s another link to the St. Francis of Assissi school application that doesn’t also have an image of a fake Columbia University ID.

Enjoy! :-)
What manner of logic would compel anyone to continue using a source that was already flawed. How, then, could you trust anything that the source purported to say. I fail to follow your reasoning.
You are entitled to your opinion and to trust or to not trust whatever sources of information you choose.
I have never felt the need to please all of the people all of the time.
