Who Are Hillary Clinton's Likely Challengers?
Sky News ^ | April 13, 2015 | Sky News US Team

As the ex-secretary of state announces her White House bid, Sky News looks at who she could be up against from both parties.

Hillary Clinton is widely seen as a front-runner for Democratic Party's presidential nomination, and her resume makes her a strong rival to any Republican.

Here is a look at some of her likely opponents in the White House race.

The Republican field is already crowded.

:: Ted Cruz

Ted Cruz became the first candidate to launch the 2016 White House bid when he announced his campaign last month. The Texas senator, 44, is a conservative firebrand who frequently clashes with leaders of his Republican Party. A first-time senator, he built a reputation as an unyielding advocate for conservative principles.

The Canadian-born son of a Cuban immigrant, Mr Cruz would be the first Hispanic person in the White House if he won the November 2016 election. A Tea Party favourite, he has drawn the scorn of senior Republicans, including Arizona Senator John McCain who in 2013 famously called him and other Tea Party lawmakers "wacko birds".

In 2013 Mr Cruz pushed his party to force a 16-day government shutdown in an unsuccessful effort to deny funding to President Barack Obama's healthcare law, the Affordable Care Act. In an ironic twist, Mr Cruz said he would still be signing up for coverage under the plan. He had been covered under the health plan of his wife, Heidi, who is taking a leave of absence from Goldman Sachs to help his campaign....

I love how Hillary is just the de facto Democratic presidential candidate. No talk of any other Dems in the race. If this doesn’t smack of entitlement, I don’t know what does.

Jimmy Carter for President in 2016!

The perfect Democrat candidate. He is even older than Hillary and almost as incompetent as Obama.

Better for us - if she doesn’t go through a bit a struggle in the primaries, and all of the Republicans do, then the winner of the Republican nomination will be fully primed to destroy her in debates, and with quick responses to her claims and campaign blather.

LET her be overconfident, LET her feel entitled, LET her walk unopposed to her nomination.

“... He is even older than Hillary and almost as incompetent as Obama.”

Yes, but not as evil and dangerous as Obama.

Jim Webb and Martin O’Malley are running no doubt. The low-level Obamanoids really want Fauxcahontas and, absent her, might be willing to make a stop Hillary stand.

Remember, inevitable Hillary came in *third* in the 2008 Iowa caucus straw vote.

“I love how Hillary is just the de facto Democratic presidential candidate. No talk of any other Dems in the race.”

60-65% of Hillary’s expected $2.5 billion dollar campaign going to national media outlets as revenue will likely over-ride any and all common sense on the part of Media execs, all fighting to get a chunk of it.

Some HUGE bonuses and commissions to made off of this, for the “Right!” people.

Hey, it worked for NBC, didn’t it?

****************

Well it’s not like there are lots of big names that have announced.
These people have and maybe you’ve heard of them.

Jeff Boss....
Vermin Supreme...
Robby Wells....

Potential Candidates that have take some action
such as PAC, exploratory committee,

Lincoln Chafee.....
Martin O’Malley....
Jim Webb.....

Others have made some noise about running but haven’t taken action.
We’ll see.

The only way Hillary! gets elected is if the RNC runs their playbook successfully and scatters the conservative vote allowing Jebster to get the nomination.

CRUZ TO VICTORY OR GET BUSHED !

Exactly.....it's her turn like Romney was the Gop. Just a circle of musical chairs only she has so much baggage and scandals a Democratic opponent could rip her down....so they have cleared the field for her.

During the Passover/Easter holidays, I had to encounter some libs over the dinner table, etc. They parroted the DNC talking point, and told me Cruz was a "firebrand". I replied, "that's exactly what we need!" Firebrand Definition dictionary.search.yahoo.com n. noun 1. A person who stirs up trouble or kindles a revolt.

I expected the Chicago Mob to back Warren.
Especially when MoveOn.org came out with their endorsement.

Right now it appears that’s not happening.
The clock is ticking.

FWIW they rolled out Baraq in Feb of 2007 so Fauxcahontas would already be 2 months behind that schedule.

I saw a bumper sticker that had: ‘Remember when America had a good president?’ with a picture of Jimmy.

Let’s see... Lincoln Chaffee? If he wins the Dem nomination, his VP should be Charlie Crist.

Smart money says that Hillary was rewarded with a cabinet position (and possibly seating of Clintonistas in the Obama administration) for getting out when she did in 2008.

What sort of backroom deals are being made by the Democrats today and are any of them throwing their support behind a Jeb Bush candidacy (primary win only)?
