His speech today reminded me of another great, articulate American politician, Ronald Reagan.
Cruz or Bush.... Tough decision. (classic sarcasm)
It’s all about the money. We’ll know pretty quick as fundraising ramps up.
Nobody here wanted Romney but he got 10 million of the 19 million R primary votes in 2012, mostly because he had the dough.
The paul$h!+$ pull many more stunts like today and Rand can KMA even if he the last Pubbie standing.
A conservative message, clearly stated. Wipe up the floor with his opponents at the debates. Adequate funding. And the nomination is his.
I hate to be the oe to point out the left is setting up a trap with Cruz. They already have their federal judges lined up just waiting to rule he’s ineligible (regardless of law) after nomination but too late for anybody else to get a good run going to win.
The only way to circumvent it is to get the USSC to issue an opinion early that negates this trap. Barring that they WILL do the worst they can as late as they can to do the most damage regardless of what others claim the law is at this time.
You do the math.
See all that orange? That was Mitt Romney.
We need a live thread for Ted on Hannity in 30 minutes, who said he’d let Ted talk about what he wants to instead of being grilled. Ted has the whole hour.
FUFNC is my normal attitude but this is gonna be GOOD.
“Cruz path: 1) Walker stumbles 2) Jindal, Perry don’t get
traction 3) liquidate Carson, Huck, Santorum early 4) out-purist Rubio 5) 1-1 w/Jeb “
____________
Skipped over Paul, who is running from the outside like his dad did. Paul people are like the Kucinich people on the left. They don’t care they can’t win. They are like Kamikazes.
Stay in the running in Iowa and S. Carolina, blow off NH, and then the field is staring down an early Texas primary. If Sen. Cruz stays viable until Texas and polls well there, it’ll bring in crossover votes for the 6 state Mar 1st primary and that’ll feed right into the CPAC straw poll that starts the next day.
Texas’ early primary can give the right candidate momentum and Sen Cruz is a favored son.
THAT’S the path to the nomination.
Cruz destroys all in debate.
Ted’s problems as I see it are raising enough money and withstanding the dual smearing of the MSM and the GOPe.
I am praying a grassroots wave will take off for him. I think he’s really the only guy who has any chance to start turning this country around.
Its going to take us doing all we can from donating to volunteering. He won’t be getting the big money donors so we have to step up, give till it hurts and do campaign work for free.
I stand with Ted
Judging by the amount of vitriol and doubt already pouring out of everyone it seems Cruz is likely to be the nominee.
It will help to have a strong showing in Iowa. My fear is that Mike Huckabee runs. The Huckster will draw a lot of votes away from Sen. Cruz. This is a problem.
Does he have a path?
Well of course he does. But the path will require:
(1) defeating a media disinformation campaign the likes of which hasn’t been seen since Sarah Palin.
(2) successfully navigating the minefield placed by the gop faction of the uniparty to defeat upstart challengers.
(3) at the same time triangulating to slow down the current holder of the office who is hell bent on destroying what he can before his successor takes office.
(4) managing to keep the lights on and bills paid to run a viable campaign notwithstanding the fact the crony capitalists will be spending money like no tomorrow to elect their precious.
He has a chance. Depends on how much the campaign takes off with those who aren’t amongst the already converted. Also depends on God to be frank. So beat the rush: pray now.
My second donation - first to his presidential campaign - goes out today.
We have a chance to make a difference - time to get off the pot and put our money where our mouths are or turn off our computers and shut the hell up.
