Former New Hampshire GOP Chairman Fergus Cullen is preparing to host a meet-and-greet at his Granite State home for former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush — but said firebrand Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz represents “everything that is wrong with the Republican Party.”
“Ted Cruz is someone who will not darken our doorstep ... He doesn’t seem to be very interested in campaigning to all of Americans but only seems to be interested in appealing to a fringe,” Cullen said during an appearance this morning on Boston Herald Radio’s “Morning Meeting” program. “I think he has been irresponsible in Washington and I think he is sort of everything that is wrong with the Republican Party in Washington these days — so he’s not welcome.” Cruz is due in New Hampshire for campaign events on Sunday.
When pushed by hosts Jaclyn Cashman and Hillary Chabot to elaborate on why Cruz was among the 2016 presidential hopefuls who wouldn’t be invited to schmooze voters at his home, Cullen said “I’ve got no patience for his approach to politics.”
“Politics is a team sport and No. 1 you have to be able to get along with your teammates and Ted Cruz clearly does not play well with others and is proud of that,” Cullen said. “If you just want to be a bomb-thrower, be a bomb-thrower but if you’re running for office and you’re serving in the United States Senate, I expect you to want to actually get things done and not just to be going from cable TV news appearance to speaking engagements across the country to rile people up without actually trying to do anything.”
Cruz went up against members of his own party to spearhead the government shutdown in 2013, making him an instant Tea Party darling but also a symbol of Washington gridlock and a magnet for the ire of congressional leadership.
Cullen said Bush’s planned appearance is an indicator that he is going to take a different approach to wooing New Hampshire voters than his brother, former President George W. Bush.
“Obviously Gov. Bush comes into this process with a famous name but he doesn’t have personal relationships with elected officials, with party leaders, with activists and so part of what they’re clearly signaling is the kind of campaign he is going to run I think will be different from (the one) that his brother ran,” Cullen said. “It was much more of a coronation when George W. Bush ran, it was characterized by big events with a thousand people — he did not do many house parties at all, he did one town hall meeting and people didn’t appreciate that, and that’s part of why John McCain was able to defeat George W. Bush in New Hampshire and do so handily back in 2000.”
Getting face time with Granite State voters will go a long way toward launching Jeb Bush’s presumed run for the Oval Office, Cullen said.
“He’s made it clear, I think, in his early going that he is his own person,” Cullen said, “that he has his own record that he is going to be running in a different style than other Bushes people are familiar with.”
Mr. Cullen, please let Jeb know my vote is not for sale. Ever. Enjoy your little party while you can.
It’s important for the GOP to help the Marxists whenever they can.

Meanwhile, it was Harry Reid and Obama who “shut down” just 17% of the government.
Ted Cruz and his fellow Republicans were burning the midnight oil trying to keep it open.
I’m with you on that idea.
I don’t think Ted is going to lose much sleep over young Mr. Cullen’s “think tank” Cornerstone Policy Research aka just CPR.
Here’s some IRS data on his “think tank”:
1. From 2002 to 2010 annual gross revenue reported was from 41,957 low to 136,621
2, Mr. Cullen threw some previous “diiner parties”. IRS records show the following:
a. 2004, $17,136 spent, net loss $9,526
b. 2005, $12,692 spent, income $7,943
c. 2006, $ 13,958 spent, income $8,147
d. 2007, $ 9,800. spent, income $4,290
Kevin Smith, Director had a salary of -$0- in 2006, $65,769 in 2009, 2010 $40,522. Source is unclear but Mr. Smith was no longer employed around 2010.
16 former “officers” worked for -0- salary.
Now, Mr. Cullen does have some conservative credentials. But, in my opinion, he’s acting a little “too big for his britches” by stepping out on the front porch of his house and attempting to belittle Ted.
The demorat functionaries like Cullen and his newsstooge pals sure are frightened of Cruz.
He did that a long time ago, he only served from 2007 to 2008.
At this point he is a consultant, apparently working for Jeb Bush. Fergus is also reportedly in favor of in-state tuition for illegal immigrants, which may have won him favor with Jeb Bush.
Good thing this guy is “Former” hopefully their new chief is better than he, as he doesn’t seem very likely to grow the party, especially with the conservative base.

Many of them still do, although we are swamped with liberal students and retirees from New York and Massachusetts.
Cullen seems to be a pretty liberal guy, which explains why his term as GOP Chair was exactly one year, from 2007 to 2008.
I doubt any conservative candidate or voter wants anything to do with him. Cullen's endorsement is only slightly better than an endorsement from Carol "Che" Porter.
Jeb could have picked Annie Custer to help him instead of Cullen, that would have had the same effect.
I think he should set up an event on the sidewalk in front of this place with the doorstep, and show the GOPe what a darkened doorstep looks like.
Bush I was a one-termer and lead to Clinton. Bush II would have been if it wasn't for John Kerry committing treason. Bush II lead to Obama.
In other words, Cullen’s a big fish in a small pond - a dime a dozen consultant.
Fergus Cullen is an insider/policy wonk. No doubt he would be for big government, so long as he is getting the contracts.
Conflict of interest?
Even Steve King is on good terms with the much of the current NH leadership.
Most these articles are former chairmen in different states working for Bush or Christie PACs.

That Jeb even NEEDS to go to a dinner party with this minnow says something about Jeb.
I would probably vote for Jeb if he was running as a democrat, against a RINO. It is important that we have NO MORE RINOs. Better to have a democrat get blamed for the failure big government causes.
Gee....if I were Ted I’d spend about 2 seconds worrying about N.H.
Ya know Fergus, I’ll bet Ted could simply schedule his own event WITHOUT GOP “help” and do just fine.
