When Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, was a teenager, he was caught doing teenage things, as revealed in documents obtained by BuzzFeed.
In his application to become Texas solicitor general, Cruz was required to list any prior convictions. That included one "guilty plea for minor in possession of alcohol."
Apparently when Cruz was a high school senior in 1987, authorities found an unopened case of beer in his vehicle. They gave him a ticket....

Well, well, I am glad to see that he is not a radical Islamist. Most normal 18-year olds have had beer to drink at some time, and maybe wine (gasp!)too.
Any publicity about this will only win Ted votes, IMHO.
Since it was a 12 pack, it probably wasn’t a craft beer (unless it was one of those assortment packs).
This could cost him the beer snob vote!
Damn! The crap I pulled In H.S. I would not be able to run for the Office of Dog Catcher. My dad was a LEO so his fellow LEO would just bring me home so he could kick the crap out of me for being stupid. I remember begging to go to jail but they still just took me home.

They would have never caught me with a case of “unopened” beer in the car when I was in high school.
At 17 I could pass for 21 and bought beer for a lot of the guys. One night we got stopped three different times with beer in the car on our way to various parties.
One cop made us open up every beer in a case and pour it down the gutter, the others just kept the beer and let us go.
Expensive night that was.
Now I feel like a beer. Is 2:30 too early?
