Rick Santorum: Electing an amateur in 2016 is unthinkable
The Washington Post's Right Turn Blog ^ | January 12, 2015 | Jennifer Rubin, Queen of the NeoCons

Posted on 01/12/2015 8:16:04 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Rick Santorum may have his faults as a potential presidential contender, but he is dead right about Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) and Rand Paul (R-Ky.): “Do we really want someone with this little experience? And the only experience they have basically — not [Sen. Marco] Rubio, but Cruz and Paul because I don’t think Rubio is going to go — is bomb throwing? Do we really want somebody who’s a bomb thrower, with no track record of any accomplishments?”

Cruz may suffer from a lack of consistency, an erratic foreign policy and a grossly inappropriate temperament, but he does, to his credit, understand that we are engaged in a war for our civilization. Not Paul, however.

Just days after the streets of Paris ran with blood, Paul’s camp declares that he is going to New Hampshire to focus on guns and Common Core in the election. Really — that’s a presidential agenda? It is indicative of the negative and small-ball sort of issues that he focuses on, assuming that the base is so dim as to care most about these issues. As for guns, no one really imagines that the Second Amendment, which made it unscathed during six years of President Obama, is unscathed....

As for the senators, they usually get knocked out in the primaries. There is an obvious exception, but I don’t think the voters will make that sort of mistake again.

So Obama is a bad president because he was a senator?

Of course not. Obama being a former senator has absolutely nothing to do with him being a bad president.

He's a bad president because he is an anti American Big Government Tyrant.

McCain, Kerry, McGovern, JFK and Obama were senators and won their party nominations.

Not to mention that he tends to pop up every four years to run interference of other conservative candidates before disappearing again.

He’s like a locust that way.

God didn’t send any icebergs the ark’s direction. And who said Noah was an amateur besides? not that Santorum really meant what he said, since there is no such thing as a “professional” politician unless that means a demagogue.

I agree with about everything Santorum has to say, but his judgment is defective. He says the wrong things at the wrong time for him to be electable. Hang it up Rick, go home and do your taxes.

I’m beginning to think he isn’t really running. I think he is running cover for the GOPe and just in to denigrate Cruz and Paul at every opportunity.

Lil Ricky has no testosterone. He is a go along to get along guy and will walk across the street to avoid conflict.

Two lawyers who could never in a million years get an interview at any law firm, university or agency that Ted Cruz has on his resume. Ponder that.

Is there another Senator Cruz that I’ve never heard of?

If Cruz is an amateur, just think how devastating he’ll be when he’s a seasoned pro!
