A senator that doesn’t think he’s above the law or privileged. Some others in the adminstration should sit up and take notice...

LOL...as though a Houston Lawyer would allow Sen. Ted Cruz to be seated on that jury. And the judge probably would not be comfortable having that expert on the Constitution sitting in his courtroom.

I have to respect him for this and all, but what happens if congress needs to declare war. Is his conservative vote lost in all votes on the floor until his jury duty is over?

Yes, I want to vote for Ted Cruz for President too. He should be the only conservative in the a republican primary. The other conservatives should not run so as not to split the conservative vote.

He can be excused, there are always alternates in a pool even during the trial.

...emptied his pockets as he approached the metal detector, took off his belt, removed his boots and proceeded through in his white socks.Wow, that's like an airport. I had have had jury duty quite a few times over the past few years and never had to do that. Just walked in and sat down in the courtroom.

But he wasnt your average citizen come to perform his civic duty it was Sen. Ted Cruz.I have to disagree with this line, he is an average citizen, just like every other citizen.

“Yes, I want to vote for Ted Cruz for President too. He should be the only conservative in the a republican primary. The other conservatives should not run so as not to split the conservative vote.”
I was thinking about that just today... It would be nice if there could be a pre-primary where all the conservatives could compete and the winner of that contest would run in the republican primary. All the conservatives that didn’t win that contest would then endorse the winner in the republican primary.

Heck, they’ll probably reach a plea deal and the jury will be dismissed. Happens every day.

Hear, hear! And I’m betting he’d agree with you. BTW, do you know how Al Capone got out of serving in the Great War?

He really doesn’t have to serve on a jury, as he’s an officeholder. He went as an example.

Britain’s justice system which we adopted was created by juries- ‘regular’ people.

T have a president that values themselves as a citizen of this country first over being a member of the privileged ruling class would be refreshing for a change. Good publicity.

I think these two should run for Prez and VP:
Ted, for obvious reasons and Chuck for when somebody needs their ass kicked.
