For the third time, the cops of the NYPD have turned their backs on the mayor of New York.
The first time was when Mayor Bill de Blasio arrived at Woodhull Hospital where mortally wounded officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu had been taken on Dec. 20. The second was when the mayor spoke at Ramos funeral. The third was at Lius service on Sunday.
Detestation of de Blasio among the NYPD and the cops who came from across the country to stand in solidarity with their slain brothers is broad and deep.
And, in a way, de Blasio served as stand-in for Al Sharpton, Eric Holder and President Obama. For all four gave aid and comfort to the war on cops that has raged since Ferguson last August when Officer Darren Wilson shot and killed an 18-year-old who tried to grab his gun.
When a Staten Island grand jury declined to indict the NYPDs Daniel Pantaleo in the chokehold death of Eric Garner, after the 350-pound black man, suffering from heart disease, diabetes and asthma, died resisting arrest, the war on cops went viral and national.
De Blasio, Sharpton, Holder and Obama were all out on point saying that blacks, especially young black males, were all too often victimized by racist cops. And black kids needed to be taught that.
Brimming with moral outrage, protesters took to the streets, blocked Times Square and Grand Central, disrupted Macys during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, and shut down malls, highways and bridges across the country.
Though their lawlessness was rampant and their chants bespoke a hatred of police, who were compared to the KKK by marchers yelling for dead cops, these protests were indulged and described as peaceful.(continued)

I see the point of the column but think it may be something else.
I think that a lot of non-black people have had their fill of being called racist - even when they are not and just don’t care. The cops, of all skin types are just tired of being the left’s punching bag.
Let Harlem rot. Stop sending in police cars there. If they hate the police so much then fine, no police. Let the Nation of Islam start chopping off hands and stoning people for immorality.
(This would also affect the lie-beral bastion of Columbia)
Good analysis.
Hispanics and blacks also hate each other. It’d be easy to get blacks to oppose amnesty as they are the biggest losers in terms of jobs and political power.
Divide and conquer...
“Hispanics and blacks also hate each other. Itd be easy to get blacks to oppose amnesty as they are the biggest losers in terms of jobs and political power.
Divide and conquer...”
Yeah, good luck with that.
First, it assumes that blacks (want to) work and are threatened by Hispanics. Blacks are on welfare, so it does not matter that Hispanics “take their jobs”.
Second, whites are seen as (rightly or wrongly) “da man”, therefore minorities will be voting for the dems anyway. Changing that will require whites coming down to the blacks/hispanics level, which is not going to happen in the next century or two.
And lastly, even the base Republicans have hispanic rising stars. Even they are seen as token props, whether rightly or wrongly.
The only way to demolish the demonrats is to attack their base, which means the poor parasitic classes that depend on the gubmint from cradle to grave. Have little things that cause the parasites to disrupt their lives. Like drug testing, less reliable public transportation, free food shortages, no obamaphones, unreliable heating/cooling, definitely less stable public housing, longer wait times for gubmint benefits, and other little things that can be done at the local level without having to go through the fed/state gubmint or the national mainstream media. Once the gubmint freebies start drying up, the moocher class will enter the job market. More supply of labor will automatically curb the need for the illegals.
The job market will be naturally more cut-throat, more people living hand to mouth, but without gubmint subsidizing their luxuries. More hand-to-mouth people having to rely on their own will become more self aware, more independent, and definitely less liberals. Liberals are either entitled rich people or entitled poor people. Both useless and the latter is parasitic as well.
“Let the Nation of Islam start chopping off hands and stoning people for immorality.”
That has already started happening in Europe. The (white) cops do not go into the islamic areas and the sharia reigns supreme.

that is, half will side with Bill when he says he did not have sex with those children, and the other half will want Bill to ‘come out’ as the first pedo president so they can have a parade.
SICKENING
Not exactly true. The illegals and their anchor baby offspring far outnumber the Negro population already. The work that illegals do is already available to anyone who shows up.
Look at LA. Latinos have replaced Black and White in all low-end occupations. Latinos are already 30% of the population, add illegals in their unknown millions to that. Blacks are 13.5% of the overall population.
More hand-to-mouth people having to rely on their own will become more self aware, more independent, and definitely less liberals.
Tough love is an attractive proposition, but politically unattractive. It will take a generation or more for the low-end welfare Negroes to regain the work ethic. In the meantime there would be hell to pay, ala Ferguson.
The NOI aren’t particularly keen about Sharia, although they do preach violence. They typically observe the Ramadan fast in December, for example.
Those of us old enough to recall the riots of the 60s know that there was indeed at least a short-term electoral advantage accruing to the Republicans from the backlash to African-American rioting. However, many of us also reflect that there was long-term political damage done to our civil society as a result of those riots. We entered into an appeasement phase in American politics out of which emerged the likes of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton who to this very day are able to shake down the white establishment.
We even changed the way we enforce laws. Those of us who remember scenes of looters cleaning out stores in the 1960s saw the Ferguson riots as a replay now replayed on our television screens in full color. But what has emerged is the idea that is not legitimate to use force to protect property. That is an extraordinary change in the entire social compact. It started with the riots in 60s and we see it today in Ferguson and in New York City.
As a result we embarked on a federal program of massively paying protection money not just to Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson but to an entire subclass of Americans. No one debated the point but we tacitly concluded that it was simply cheaper to pay the protection money and, besides, we were told we should have white guilt.
Longer-term, the media and academia combined to convince us that somehow the blame for all of this should be fixed not on the arsonists who exalted, "burn, baby, burn!" but on society. Many of us bought into this left-wing media based scenario. We whites fled to suburbia after these riots to go about our lives as free as possible from the pathology which eats away at virtually every American inner-city.
We conservatives are organically indisposed to protesting, instead we adapt and fashion individual solutions to generic problems. Conservatives and Republicans essentially abandoned the field leaving leftists to finance the findings of the Kerner report and spend trillions of dollars in protection money.
America simply surrendered the inner cities. The Detroit riots occurred in 1967, can anyone doubt that we are paying the forfeit even today?
What will be the ultimate societal result of this eruption coming out of Ferguson and now extending across America?
Spot on observation.
I realize that Sharpton is shaking down another corporation as we speak, but I sense a reversal of mood among key players going forward, that may just backfire on the Reverends.
Whites are at the breaking point, and I know some blacks who see the problem clearly, that it does them no good to malign whitey in this way. One of the differences is that blacks and whites have now inter-married, inter-mingled in ways that were not prevalent in the sixties. There's one in every family, so to speak, and that goes both ways.
Go to any restaurant, place of business, civic function, even some churches, and you will see a congenial mixture you didn't see back then. There has been a melding, certainly not complete, but a melding nonetheless.
I think most blacks see this as a good thing, and that the Sharptons and Jacksons are attempting to take us all back to a place that no one really wants to go anymore. What we are witnessing is a minority, egged on by our President and others, but there's a silent majority there that will emerge that will not want to squander the gains that no one can deny. At least I hope there is, and if so, this will not bode well for the hucksters now exposed as the problem, and not the solution.
“The cops, of all skin types are just tired of being the lefts punching bag.”
Maybe so; let’s see which party the various police unions support the next go round. I’m betting no change.....
